Film School Rejects: Junket Report: Seann William Scott, More Than a Role Model

    I liked him in The Rundown. He had plenty of scenes where he either made jokes or was beaten senseless, which is funny too. "A little thunder, some lightning!"

    Man. I've enjoyed all his films, he has such charm and really quite a style that not many possess. I think that's what defines some actors, not the fact that they're "typecast", but the fact that they have "style".

    Being typecast I find reflects poorly on the actor, only showing that they do the same role terribly and without much change. Having style though, it just goes to show that an actor knows how to play something well from experience, and can continue to give the audience entertainment in that role with their own personal spin to keep everyone knowing it's them.

    It's something like that that separates actors like Jonah Hill and Scott. I love Hill and find him hilarious, I really do, but Scott is his own brand at this point, while Hill relies more (IMHO) on Apatow's writing for his little doses of charm.

    I haven't seen him do better than 'stark raving mad' which is also one of the better heist movies I've seen.
