    Abignale Jr was remarkable for successfully pulling off cons that (virtually) nobody caught onto, and for turning his eventual capture into a high profile career, no significant jail time served or even sentenced. This guy Russell has done nothing but get caught and caught again. He is famous for flop cons that his own employers were able to figure out. People in the food industry were able to catch him out. THE FOOD INDUSTRY for cripes sake. Not exactly status. Gay or not, it's the fact he couldn't keep his dick in his pants that landed him in the first real trouble, although he wouldn't have been arrested for it if he'd been straight. Crime enough in Texas I suppose.

    He didn't "impersonate" those people, he *was* those people. He didn't have a degree in food service, but he did work in it, and he was a Florida police officer. Cripes, read the book.

    You're missing the point. What's impressive about Russell is not what he did to get in jail, but what he did to get out. His story and that of Abignale Jr's are very different, and that is one major way in which they are. Also, he embezzled a hell of a lot of money, over and over again, from some very successful companies. His landing in jail had nothing to do with his sexual orientation.
