Film School Rejects: Jason Schwartzman Makes Beautiful Music for Judd Apatow

Damn, this actually looks really good. I am a huge fan of Apatow, but I think he may have really nailed it with this one. It's also nice to see Sandler in a role that lets him spread his acting wings a little more than the bullshit he has been doing lately. Punch Drunk Love was a great film, and I thought Sandler did a fantastic job in it. Add in Rogen (who is a favorite of mine), Jonah Hill, and Schwartzman (who really just has a cinematic charisma that I can't explain beyond him being a really solid actor), and this film looks to be a real gem. Can't wait.

I realize comedies aren't meant to be suspenseful, but do I need to see the entire story revealed in the trailer?

And I only count two very funny lines... Sandler telling the doctor "the ones where you try to kill Bruce Willis" and Hill telling Schwartzman "I think he went to hell." That said, Punch Drunk Love didn't have a lot of laugh-aloud bits but it was still an awesome movie.

From what I remember hearing from people who've read the script, there's a good ending that goes beyond what was in this trailer. But, I could be wrong...

This movie really does have the best of the best in today’s comedy. I’m a huge Seth Rogan fan, and I really liked the review I read on EverHype (www.everhype.com/?utm_source=bc) that called Zack and Miri Make a Porno “Great” and gave it 4 stars. I really don’t see how you can go wrong with this flick, but, like all of Judd’s movies, I’d wait for it to come out of DVD.
