Sorry, how about "androgynous and scarred pubic mound." Better?

    A bit. Thanks!

I like the casting. Especially for Oskar. I was only hesitant about Chloe Moretz until I saw that she's in Kick-Ass. And then all was forgiven.

Well they aren't stunt casting. Jenkins is a solid actor, so that's a good start. Not sure about the kids, but at least we're not seeing Dakota Fanning and Will Smith's bratty little kid or anything.

The girl was actually a boy who had been castrated (detailed in the book) Eli being short for Elias. So no vagina was ever there.

The casting looks great, I just hope they stick close to the themes and feel of the original story and they do the pool and hospital scenes a bit better than the film.

It was more the pubis area than a "vagina." As in pubic hair like in Porkey's but for .07 seconds instead of several minutes. So not a hairy teenage vagina. I think it might be an important distinction.

There is also a fair amount of ambiguity regarding the sex of Eli. The quick indistinguishable shot I think is supposed to play into that.

Hollywood can easy use a body double if the scene is deemed needed.
