And Cody, a Kevin Carr model would take something stronger than iron to case all that girthiness. Can someone make an artist rendering?

Don't know if we'll see him in the suit but on the back of the pack it states that Jim Rhodes wears this armor on missions that are too dangerous for Tony Stark.

It looks like War machine with the rockets, machine gun, and coloring. I would love to see both of those caracters in the movie (Iron Man and War Machine). This is the only movie that I'm really exited about watching.

i have already sean the movie in mexico and Jim rhodes looks at the mark II and says "next time, baby" but but war machine does not appear and its supposed to appers in the next sequels

yes this is war machine its his armor iron man made it though james rhodes wears it when tony cant it has more weapons as you can see for more dangerous missions it can go in stealth mode and its more heavy duty so it can take more hits

I agree that the toy is no sure fire way to say that War Machine will be in the second Iron Man movie (I have seen #1 four times already in a row since it opened)...but rest assured...he will be in it. There are two obvious reasons why. Well...one obvious and then one obvious to fans of the Iron Man series.

1-Upon seeing the Mk II hanging up in Tony's garage, Rhody says: "Next time, baby." That'd piss too many fans off NOT having War Machine in after saying something like that.

2-Look at the blueprints that are being assembled and disassembled during the credits. You see plenty of what just looks like Iron Man...but keep watching. You see a nice little addition being tossed onto one of the shoulders...a Chaingun.

So if this subliminal toy isn't enough evidence...then those two additional bits of info should be.

Sorry Volkov, but that's very clearly photoshopped in. The "U.S. War Machine" emblem doesn't lay flat on the armor like it should, and the chain gun is heavily pixelated. Both of these fact indicate that it is neither a proffesional job nor an official image.
(also, unless I'm mistaken, the chain gun and missile launcher are on the wrong shoulders)
Sequel number 1 has been announced for June 2010 (Marvel Wiki) with at least one more after that promised. The way the directors and producers talk, they're more concerned with including the Mandarin in the sequels than they are War Machine, though they do promise that he'll be in a movie eventually.

If War Machine was in the next movie, the middle chest's hole would have to be removed because Jim Rhodes doesn't need Tony's life support system.

Still, that's pretty cool looking.

i think in the next movie, tony will give up the iron man moniker and pick a replacement,aka rhodey. then the war machine suit, aka mark 2, will mess with rhodeys head because it was built specifically for tony and no one else. and when tony wants to reprise his role as iron man, rhodey gets paranoid and thinks tony wants to get rid of him resulting in iron man vs war machine. but rhodey realizes what happened and then tony and rhodey work together as iron man and war machine. i also think the villain will be either mandarin or crimson dynamo

K12, something that you're not considering is that the blue thing in the center is a power source: a miniaturized arc reactor that not only powers the electro-magnet that keeps the shrapnel from entering Tony's heart and killing him, but it also powers the suit and all it's functions. Also, there are a few layers of armor gizmos between the actual arc reactor and the outer surface of the armor, and these things help concentrate the power coming from the arc into the "Uni-beam" the suit's most powerful weapon (essentially an Uber-repulsor) which was only used once in the film, ostensibly because of power supply constraints.

Im really surprised no one has commented on the poor paint job of the toy!
Its clearly an iron man figure which someone has painted with warhammer paint or something! Look at the matt finish of the shoulder pads compared to the rest of it. Come on People!

Spider-man and Iron man have ALWAYS been my 2 most favorite superheroes. With that said, the focal point of Iron man 2 is to incorporate Mandarin into the picture, Notice I said FOCAL POINT not definate, war machine will be introduced but will also be an introduction for (from my studies) Iron Mans Extremis Armor. This may very well take place in IM2 but highly doubtful however who knows how marvel is thinking right now, just look at how they made the mistake of replacing Terrence Howard (Rhody) with Don Cheadle, can u picture this clown donning the War Machine Suite? Nuff Said....However, I diverse from my point, There is too much to focus on right now. Let's recap. Introduction and brief history of Mandarin (has to take place) , Focusing on Tony Starks' drinking problem (has to take place), Avenger Initiative (has to take place) That already is alot to focus on, however marvel made a promise in IM1 to introduce War Machine and to not do so in IM2 is going to Piss Off alot of fans. TALL ORDER, WILL MARVEL DELIVER ? All we can do is keep our fingers crossed, close our eyes, and hope for the best. To all the TRUE IM fans out there let's make it known what we want, maybe Marvel will hear us. Later.....
