    It's common that only the most modern film's products get attention. Or that the "past" ones are the same lame examples (e.t., African Queen). But some of the most beloved films of all time have stuff that today would get eyes rolling and critics flame-posting; for example the Heineken conversation in The Last Detail or Baby Ruth in Caddyshack or my favorite of all time, the obvious bottle on Meyer's Rum behind Indiana Jones on board the tramp steamer.

    AS for brands sponsoring films: They don;t need to in many cases. Look at the TRansporter series for Audi.

    Pepsi cans from Twister... sliced and diced into windmills... There's no way that a random collection of soda cans from a town would be so heavily dominated by Pepsi cans.
