While I'm taking everything in that article with a pinch of salt right now, I will not be surprise when they announce that Batman 3 is on the way with Bale and Nolan back, that's very likely to happen, even if it hasn't happened yet.

Weisz as Catwoman is a little more far fetched since there is, as of yet, no word on story or screenplay having been written (despite E! suggesting they're writing it "as we speak"... yeah, Nolan and his Brother write these things, I'm sure that while he isn't yet attached to it, he's going to be writing it now).

And as for that article... did they really want to emphasize that they've been told Bales Batman will be "sexier"? How is that even relevant in a Nolanverse Batman? Next they'll be reporting seeing nipples on the as of yet not designed new suit.

The only question I have: Is there even a script? b/c if not, how can they know what characters they're using?

To be honest i can think of nothing that will make me happier than the news of Batman 3. but to be honest, i put no faith in any rumors until Nolan comes out and hopefully says, "yes Johnny Depp is playing the riddler" then i will be happier. I find it interesting to hear Rachel Weisz as catwoman, i could think of a hundred women that could be far worse than her. she definately has the acting chops to hold with Bale, Caine, Freeman and Oldman. so that wouldnt be that bad, but i remember reading nolan say that he didnt want to do the penguin because he didnt find it realistic. I dont see catwoman being any more realistic than the penguin though. both cartoonish in fashion, even in thier roots Burgess Meredith as the Penguin was still very early comic esk.

So i do not see catwoman being any more relevant in a natural gotham setting as nolan has placed. And as far as carrying on in the same manner as TDK, Depp seems to be the only logical choice to follow Ledger as equally intense and equally awesome/wierd/character driven. I was also thinking out loud about who could play the love interest? Perhaps bring back Vicki Vale? that would certainly help get to the roots of the Gotham public opinion and see first hand what the citizens viewpoints are. This is a fresh new Batman Nolan has created and he obviously doesn't care about using names and characters from past batman films. either way im anxious.

    end with robin?
is no1 even interested in the bat family expansion set?

I think WB and DC don't want to make the same mistake with the other Batman franchise. With the success of TDK I think WB and DC is making Batman a solo artist at this time.

Yeah, thats true. We can agree that this is completely different though.

I dont know why you would question Ledger. He was a good actor long before he played the Joker. Robert Pattinson on the other hand is not a good actor nor will he ever be and the only reason his named has even entered the rumor mill is because of that terrible Twilight movie that I was forced to see...

If he were to be in the next Batman movie I would not see it, its that simple.

Good newsfor B3, but, nothing has been written in concrete about a third Batman. When it is confirmed, I am sooooooooooooooooo staying away from the internet with anything to do with this movie. I want to go into the Imax, yes we all know it will be another Imax release, I want to go in as a virgin with this one. I've spoiled myself rotten with TDK that I was kinda mad at myself. I felt like I took away from the movie because of this damn world we live in today where you fart and it's already on myspace about how much it stinks. I know... I'm not funny.
Anywho, when this gets confirmed by the evil lords of hollywood, I'll be taking a reservation at Abraham Lincoln's log cabin until Batman 3 or The Dark Knight Returns or Gotham City or, you get the picture, is wrapped and ready to rolled.

so...did anyone like that myspace fart joke???

i was thinking of like a dark victory kinda thing with robin only at the end..
i just rewatched TDK over the weekend.. and joker should not even be in B3.. maybe just an equally awsome harlequine to represent him? so that way, we get another awesome character without spoiling the existing joker. and i m looking over the gallery of batman villians and scarface anyone? i think depp would give something everyone would expect as the riddler.. but scarface could do more damage in the nolanuniverse. with either sugar or arnold as the Ventriloquist. i m nt picky.

Rachel Weisz as Catwoman would be awesome..if not how about Kate Beckinsale?

Thought I read somewhere Aaron Eckhart was coming back as well as everyone else except that Nolan hasn't made up his mind if he wants to come back.

They should leave Joker as is. Ledger's portrayal was perfect and remembered. Just needed Mark Hamill's maniacal laugh to top it off.

Would having Clayface be too campy for this series? How about Croc?

if penguin is too unrealistic for nolan already, prolly no other characters with super powers is gonna be thrown in the mix.. afterall, we didnt get to see a lazarus pit in batman begins.. =)

That's funny because not too long ago when TDK was being made I said Heath Ledger?! Are you kidding me? That worked out alright though.

Still I must agree Robert Pattinson, who? He lacks the look and maturity level to pull off a character such as The Joker. Oh yeah and he just can't act!

There is no way that Nolan brings back The Joker in the next film; people would be disappointed no matter who ended up attempting to fill Ledgers shoes.
