Film School Rejects: Hell Yes: ‘Dr. Who’ Script in the Works

Nish · 6 months agoI don't think Tennant will play the Doctor as he has moved on and is being replaced by someone else. I think Stephen Moffat and Russell T Davis will write because the BBC aren't (that) stupid and wouldn't let anyone else do the job (badly). The new Dr looks interesting, like he would play it as Tom Baker did. I guess David Tennant could make an appearance in a flashback or some scene where all the different Dr Whos appear to the new one to offer advice or something like Yoda did to Luke.

eastephie123 · 6 months agoI don't think the "powers that be" would be stupid enough to finally make a Doctor Who film and then cast an unknown actor like Matt Smith in the lead. Not unless they plan on shelving it for a couple of years until fans start accepting him in the new role. Which is not impossible since it usually takes so long to get a film done in the first place. I'm such a fangirl that I'd see the movie at least once no matter who plays the Doctor but I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope it would have David Tennant (and NOT just in flashbacks). Russell T. Davis & Stephen Moffat are such amazing writers that I think they could easily figure out a way to have David Tennant in the movie & still have it maken sense with Matt Smith on the tv show.

Aaron · 6 months agoDavis is a terrible writer. His work makes me cringe. Moffat is the only decent writer on that show, and unfortunately, he only writes one or two episodes a season. Hopefully, he's given the chance to write for this movie.
