Film School Rejects: Go Crazy: David Slade Will Direct Third Twilight Film

30 Days of Night is a fantastic vampire movie: But the things that make it awesome will never make it into a Twilight movie: Still: He's probably the best of the directors they've had so far.

I think Summit is finally seeing that this franchise isn't about teenage girls. There is a lot more depth to the Twilight Saga than most realize. It is a rich and vast story, that happens to take place starting in high school. David Slade is a great choice for this saga as it matures.

Ok I'm skeptical please explain what's so deep about it.

You can't polish a piece of crap. Watching the first Twilight film, I could tell that they tried to fix the glaring problems from the book, but they still wound up with a boring, boring film which consisted mostly of the two leads making sexy faces at each other. These director choices for the sequels are interesting, to say in the least. My guess is they chose this guy because of the huge evil vampires vs. good vampires/werewolves "battle" in Eclipse.

You know its bad when they have to pick another director for the next one, while the second is still being filmed! Ha! At least I know not to go into New Moon with high hopes. : D

Plus, if Slade really is at the helm of Eclipse, it wouldn't be bad idea to film the third and fourth installments together. Or at least one right after the other. But then again, maybe this is Summit's new trend for these kinds of movies. To follow the trend, a la Harry Potter!

30 Days of Night bored me. No one I saw it with liked it. Hard Candy wasn't all that good either. Directing wise it was fine I guess, but story wise I thought the ending blew. I don't give a shit about Twilight though, so who cares. If they want it to become good, they need to cast Daniel Craig as Edward (or whatever) and have it be directed by Martin Campbell and replace vampires with spies.
