this movie is going to break tdk's opening weekend record.
  • Arou101 · 8 months ago
The only way that will happen is if Rourke dies during post-production... which is actually likely.

Are the walls plaster? Man, everyone knows that Stark's condo had a stucco interior, as Jarvis said to tony in Invincible Iron Man #264.

it's a really nothing image...it's like if he posted an image of him standing beside a pile of wood that will become S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters...it would be different if the penthouse was finished...they really wasted a lot of money on the last film destroying all the sets...

Which makes even less sense when you remember that before the first one was released, Robert Downey Jr had already been contracted for more movies. But then again, this is Hollywood - it doesn't have to make sense.

If you want to know why studios release "no nothing" images like this, just ask yourself why Tyler Perry's films make any money and why stupid Scary Movie spinoffs are made at all....because they know we'll eat it up like it's candy.

They know that every major movie site is going to post it as soon as they can, regardless if it's an image of Jon Favreau taking a piss next to what WILL be the marker for Robert Downey Jr.'s stand in, just so they can be talking about Iron Man 2.

We need to look Favreau in the face and say, "No dude, we're not going to post this. Show us an image of the villain in Iron Man, and then we MIGHT post it with a small write up, maybe even make it a feature. But until you show us something of value, keep working."

    Hmm interesting.

Would like to point out this is from director Jon Favreau's Twitter account. He tweeted this image as "Me and Matt in Casa de Stark".

Wouldn't call this anything the studio put out to hype the film more a private image the director put out to his twitter account. Sad this made news really.

i love tdk too (def. one of my top comic book films) but i really do feel it is gonna happen. iron man was hugely popular and the next one is gonna up the ante big time especially if they include war machine and other cameos from the greater MU. it's opening up at the beginning of may with no competition and it's pg-13 and more family friendly than tdk. those factors will help it open up big. we've seen numerous other examples of when a hugely popular first movie leads to an enormously successful sequel (i.e. POTC, Nolan's Batman films, x-men).
