Wow, what a horrible realization of one of the best anime series ever made. While they're at it, how about casting Vin Diesel as Jet, Cameron Diaz as Faye and scrap Ein in favor of a smart-talking cat named Garfield.

Wow, such hatred. I like Fox. Die Hard, Taken, Wolverine, Night at the Museum, They Came from Upstairs. Fox is sweet, don't get butthurt about the WB and Watchmen deal. =P

Wow... I couldn't imagine a less charismatic actor to play Spike... This is possibly the worst news i've heard since Leonardo Dicaprio remaking Akira...

I don';t even think they're even in the process of making that live-action movie. I know that Cameron will make Battle Angel Alita which sounds good. But I wonder who'll be the actor to play the major role. I still want Ghost In the Shell Live Action but noooooooo...
I do think this will suck the way they did Speed Racer and Dragonball.

well say what you will about remaking Cowboy Bebop, but i think Keanu is a surprisingly good choice for Spike...

It doesnt matter who they have cast in the part of Spike, the movie is going to suck ass regardless. Why ruin "the best" anime series of all time by making it live action. If they want to apeal to the fans, just make another bebop movie like the animated one that has already been released. That movie rocked. Live action versions of anime is never good...Give me one example of anything more that a sub-par adaptation and I will give you Wonkas golden ticket....

actually i could really see Winona rider as ed if she really step her acting game up a bit.but quite honestly im terrified at the the thought of keanu reeves as spike i like keanu but no just um.... no. Also i was happy as a high school girl with her first "toy" when i found out akira was gonna be live action.then i thought about it and realized they could never do it justice with live action. Then i heard Leonardo dicaprio is gonna do it and utterly lost all hope it was the final blow kinda like seeing the leaked photos of "piccolo" from the dragon ball movie whats that prase used nowadays oh yes "this is made of fail"leo your cool too but oh hell nah whatchu be thinking........sorrry went a little crazy there:) :)

C'mon, I don't thin KR would be too bad, after all all he'd have to do is spout off the wise cracks that the writers write. Now if Uma Thurman played Ed, that would be good for me.

keanu reaves is the worst actor on the face of the planet, why didn't they choose a real actor like james franco or johnny depp, honestly k. reaves cannot act. i can't stand him he has ruined so many movies for me, the matrix, constantine -- he just sux, how does this guy get jobs he has absolutely no acting skills whatsoever, he is literally bill n ted in every movie he plays.

Okay, here is who I think they should cast:
Faye - Kelly Hu - She's got the hairline, asian backround, body, and heartshaped face with cute lips
Ed - Ellen Page - She won't get older, she has the face and body, and she tends to play young kids. she could pass as a young boy/girl [just like ed]
Jet - Gerard Butler - He is barely taller than keannu reeves, but he's a lot bulkier, and has a great voice

Winona Ryder would be great! She just needs to pick some better roles. However, I don't wish to see her and Keanu in 'another' film together.... come one Winona you're better than that!

Um, did you guys miss the part where Sunshine and Shinichiro are producing? When the creator gives his blessing and will have a hand in creating the film what more is there to say? If it pleases Shinichiro, then it pleases me.

OK. well I am a huge fan of the anime series, i have it on DVD along wit the movie. I think this could swing in either direction. The director chosen is going to be a HUGE factor. If they have chosen one, please let me know cause im dieing here. Also as the whole Keanu issue goes, any actor is going to have a hard time playing Spike. Hes complex, laid back, serious and joking all at the same time and yet he can get hardcore pissed and his character still flows perfectly. So any actor is going to have a hard time filling those shoes. as the rest of the cast goes, its going to be a very tough time casting this movie. But on the whole this isnt ruining my view on Bebop, because they are working so closly with the original studio and director. I doubt this is going to be as good as the anime. However this has realy spiked my interest, so i am very much looking forward to this movie, even if Keanu is playing spike.
