Film School Rejects: Ford, Other Brands Find Their ‘Quantum of Solace’

    Ford has been placing products in Bond movies since Goldfinger ('64 Mustang). The Ford Ka is the automaker's hot new small car in Europe. No, it's not a sports car and isn't meant to be. Like the use of the Ford Mondeo sedan in "Casino Royale", it's a real world vehicle for a relatively realistic 007 movie.

    More prominent in Quantum is the Ford Edge, which is branded as a hydrogen vehicle in the movie. The Edges used in the movie weren't actual hydrogen vehicles, but Ford actually does have a fuel cell hybrid electric plug-in research program using the Edge.

    I think the main takeaway from the use of "green" vehicles in QoS is two-fold: 1) it's a sign of the times, and 2) it makes plot sense (environmentalism being important to the story).
