I have hopes as long as we can all agree to just get rid of the jazz club scene from our minds.

If Raimi could commit to it I'd enjoy seeing Carnage who was always one of my favorite villains as a child.

They have to do lizard man is some way. He has been hinted at was to many times. And well Rhino sounds awesome and all but I would rather see carnage as long as we get more of him. The length of screen time for Venom was rediculous compared to how long he has been in the spidey universe

What I like about Carnage is that from a distance he seems like spiderman so the whole city can get all anti-spiderman aaaaand segway to J Jonah Jamieson!! awesome!

series from the 80's, "Kravens Last Hunt". That series was absolutely amazing.

i love Bruce Campbell, but he wouldn't make a good Kraven. But I can totally get behind Bruce Campbell as Mysterio. For those that don't know, Mysterio is ridiculously over the top. He was a special effects guy who wanted to get attention but taking out Spiderman using his knowledge of explosives, stunts, and effects. PLEASE PROMOTE BRUCE CAMPBELL!!!

Spideys the jewel in the crown of the Marvel Licences, Its GOT to be handled right.

Bruce Campbell as Mysterio would be great, It would even work in the lore as he was an Usher in the 2nd film and French Maitre'D in the awful 3rd film, - so just make him a SFX-wizard and Illusionist who drops out of the industry (and his crappy part time jobs:(previous appearences) with plans for world domination/manipulation.

The third film failed miserably because of the annoying interferences of Ex Marvel Avi Arad and Gale Ann Hurd trying to cram Venom AND New GreenGoblin AND that MJ love story which should of wound down at the conclusion of the second film NOT made into another plot element (a love triangle) for the third film.
The phrase 'too many cooks spoil the broth' sprung to mind.

Marvel, concentrate on the Lizard story which has its ground laid already and sow the seeds for another villain story as a sub-plot (maybe The Vulture or Mysterio getting his act together) but dont try and shoe-horn in 'all things for all people again'. recreate the spirit and pace of the first two and you will have a repaired franchise for future films, cock it up again a'la Spidey3 and the franchise is dead, and I really dont want you to fall back on the $re-boot option$.

Spider-Man 2 was a good movie, but I'm thinking that it was mainly because Doctor Octopus was a regular man, seeking to be of service to the people - then he got shit on and went nuts. But he was a good ol' guy and became a villain due a freak accident that scarred him physically and mentally. Because of his accident, he was arguably the villain, but because he was still Otto Octavius, you can't discard his humanity and you might feel a little sorry for him.

I agree with Mysterio and Rhino. They're just two guys... one a little slower than the other, but they're guys that don't go nuts due to some lame alien symbiote. They're just bad guys who want to get better at being a bad guy. AND if you want more Jameson, introduce Scorpion. Keep it to the comics, Jameson will have half the screen-time as Spidey. Shocker is just a criminal with crazy gloves - and Vulture was just an old-ass with a grav-pack.

Carnage means more Venom, more symbiote, more Topher Grace. If you want a dark Spider-Man movie, move ahead with Carnage, but if you ask me, no one wants anymore symbiote for a while. At least I don't.

I will watch Spiderman 4 & 5 and hopefully they do a good job, but Spiderman 3 has forever left a bad taste in my mouth, and even if the next two are good, that third one will always be a black eye on the set.

I agree in "Simon Morris" comment, I would like to see Lizard and make Bruce Campbell as Mysterio. Now do you think we could add Black Cat to the equation and have her as something peter would like (physically, mentally, agility-wise, and strength and emotionally). But after I've seen Spiderman 3 I think it would a bad idea to mish mash all of the characters in one movie or two.

Carnage would be a total disaster, Rhino? eeeeehhhh maybe not, a cameo from other Marvel Character Universe? That'll be cool too.

Spider-man 3 wasn't terrible, just not nearly as good as the first two. This is why I think it will be easier for Marvel to make a smooth recovery.

I completely agree with your analysis about getting Maguire back to the old Peter. The disappointing thing about 3 was that I would have loved to see Peter tortured by the temptations that power and success bring, but there were too many things going on to spend any time on character development. That's so sad, because Raimi and Maguire did such a nice job with character development in 1 and especially 2. And I agree with what you said about JJJ, too--I can't get enough of JK Smmons! And Raimi's little brother as his assistant; he's so funny! I think the formula has to be ONE villain, one relationship, and one emotional conflict. That's how they did it in the past.

Give Gwen Stacy more screen time and make the comic fans happy by making Peter end up with her (Green Goblin kills her in the comics, for those who don't know.)
The MJ thing has gotten stale.
If they really want to make Spidey 4 good:
1 - A good villian we may sympathise with. The Lizard seems good.
2 - A cameo from other Marvel characters to hint that Spidey might make it to the Avengers movie agfter all.
3 - Make Spidey pull a Civil War and reveal himself to the public =p

The Lizard would be great, except he should be left as a villain for the fifth movie and have some character development for dr. Connors on the fourth.

Black cat would be cool as a love interest for spidey, and if people want to see more villains with out having them ruin the story, the movie could start with an action scene where Spiderman captures one of the lesser villains (i.e. shoker, rhino, etc.) and then be done with them and move to a better villain.

They're shouldn't be just one or two villians in either Spiderman 4 or 5. Bring the Lizard in 4 but leave him for 5. Each of the Spidey badies: Rhino, Mysterio, Shocker, Kraven, etc. should have a part in the next two movies, and you can tie them all together with the introduction of the Kingpin (like they did in the spiderman cartoon). Besides I seriously doubt anyone will notice Kingpin was in Daredevil....

Finally, Peter Parker is a sarcastic guy and Tobey has never truely emphasized this lovable aspect. If Topher Grace (who played Venom) had been around during the first film's creation, he would've been an even better Spidey, but still... Tobey McGuire should take a hint and play spidey as a nicer, funnier, more upbeat guy who really does fear for the safety of his loved ones. And speaking of loved ones, GET RID of Kirsten Dunst. She plays this extremily whiney Mary Jane whose always complaining. Bring in Elizabeth Banks, or tie in a Black Cat for both 4 and 5.

Spiderman has near infinite creative value that can be put to use in films.... I trust Raimi.

i'm a spiderman fan from way back! I remember the cheesey show that they had in the 70s. Youi have know Idea how long we fans waited for these movies. As far as I'm conserned , They all kicked ass!Can't wait for 4. Heard Carnage is going to be in it!Just my thoughts peeps! I'm an old school fan but still like the sman! I remember GWEN STACY! not cause I found the book, cause I bought it when it came out!
