Although, wishing death upon him etc is VERY uncalled for.
Just kidding.
Also, so far, theres a trend developing with the reviews. A lot of reviews from New York based critics are hatin on this film. Is it a location thing or what?
Why do you think Spidey is always climbing up walls?
There's a conspiracy going on.
Almost reminds me of the Family guy scene where Peter admits he did not like the Godfather.
On another note, I find it funny that a critic would be whining about being criticized.
To me, the bottom line is that the Fandom's harsh responses come due to an air of insult being levied on something they love and cherish. Kinda like somebody insulting your kid sister, right after you just called her a b1tch. What's the knee jerk reaction to that? A sound thrashing of your buddy or whoever made such a rude comment. Life's a double standard friends-but it is all precious-so, when bad reviews come out, & those same reviewers are claiming that TDK sucks in comparison to Batman & Robin, Hancock, Superman Returns, or Spider-Man3, one cannot honestly be surprised at the backlash. However, once people return to civility, they ultimately know that regardless of a critic's opinion-the people will go if they want to. For instance, I live in Toronto & I can remember just how harsh the critics were towards Ace Ventura:Pet Detective when it was released. I mean, they tore it up and heavily lambasted local son Jim Carrey in an unabashed manner. However, one of my older cousins took me out to see the movie that same Friday night and I laughed my a$$ off and left the theatre wondering what the heck those stupid critics were carrying on about in the first place. I think sometimes people forget that everybody's entitled to their opinion and we're entitled not to give a damn.
To be honest, Denby has not come out and whined about the slams. An article over at Hollywood Bitchslap was sent to me defending the man and that caused me to go look this review up myself.
There's never popcorn at NY screenings. :(
Anyway, the fanboy outrage at the "rotten" reviews was almost scary. I blogged about it
myself.

out contrasts and build toward a satisfying climax. The Dark Knight is constant climax;
it’s always in a frenzy, and it goes on forever."
To be honest.... as a huge fan and follower of these movies... I couldn't have put it better
myself. At least this negative review makes sense, as opposed to those who really just
see the film as being too "dark". I expected much more, and was disappointed. Very anti
climatic... unless of course you want to keep shelling out more money for inevitable
sequels.
That is just one observation. You can find more.
Denby can't appreciate good music.
Denby can't do this and Denby do can't that... there's so much to point out in Denby's review that it's nonsense to talk about it.
And Eric Snider cannot even be considered a critic. Sometimes it happens. Wrong people at the wrong job.
