...y'know? Maybe I *really* do have a problem with these guys. [Expletive] The Weinsteins, indeed. I'm in full agreement, Robert.
As a creator of spin myself, I have to wonder why the executives wouldn't package the two versions together and ensure that a decent amount of people rent or buy it for a few dollars more instead of splitting profits between two versions. It's not like anyone is going to buy both. And how do you package the same (but different) movie so that it doesn't confuse the buyers? The Weinsteins are a great creative force, but they need to get some new management up in there.
It's basic supply and demand. If there's no demand for your movie, you don't release two versions of it. I have to wonder what the actors and director think of all this.
