Let's hope there'll be another sequel. I was watching the first movie with Thomas Jane. I thought it was bad.

Yep! 2004 was terrible! But it wasn't the first, there's a 1989 Punisher with Dolph Lundgren (the original Russian, of Rocky fame, and the reason for that lame character in the 2004 film). Let's start this franchise afresh with Ray Stevenson's Punisher. He seems genuinely interested in reprising the character, which is a major plus for any die-hard fans. One might almost think he grew up reading the comic book himself! This should be the first, and the 2004 movie should be quietly swept under the rug, and removed from the series.

Um, the Russian was NOT an inspiration from Dolph Lundgre. Obviously you just made that up yourself in your head, ever read Welcome Back, Frank? Written 1999-2000, 4-5 years before the 2004 movie, the book featured the debut of a Garth Ennis original character, the Russian.

He was NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, like Dolph Lundgren's Russian, other then they are both really big and strong, thats it.
