I'd also love that Derby would get more exposure, but I'd be a little sad to see my unique, kick-ass sport inducted into the mainstream. I'm having flashbacks to the early 90s when all of my favorite then-unknown bands -- Nivana, NIN, the Pixies -- blew up into glam pop stars. A selfish thought, but there it is.

I am glad to hear that Derby will get some possitive exposure from this movie because you all know what a challenge it is to teach people that we roller girls are not of the bad sterio type people lable us as, that we put our own hard earned money into keeping roller-derby alive, that we really do work hard in training and we all are like sisters.
I don't think there is any better bond then whats between us roller-girls.
