    Yes, I have been duped by movie marketing and lived to resent it. My revenge is to ignore all trailers, all hype, and just go based on who's in it, who directed it, and mostly, who wrote it.

    It's not difficult to find great movies without trailers. Just watch TV and if, after the movie opens, they're still advertising it, it usually sucks. But if, after the movie opens, you see no further TV ads, then chances are it's because they don't need to spend another dime on advertising because the people are showing up in droves.
