I'm glad Hellboy ended up first in the box office, although it would have been awesome if it had made more money. On the other hand... OUCH for Eddie Murphy! I *knew* Meet Davewas gonna do bad, but not THAT bad. The film is DEFINITELY the worst performer in the whole year... not even Speed Racer (which wasn't that bad to begin with... definitely a thousand times better than Meet Dave) did that bad.

Like I said... ouch...

You are totally wrong about the Love Guru. It was hilarious and fun. My piece is this, Mike Myers, whether you like his kind of funny or not, is a rare comic who is sheerly an entertainer. I get the feeling that if he found the right comedy within theater, a showy, outrageous, outlandish, huge scale production, broadway thing, he would succeed. I just want this opinion to get out there. I feel like he is just entertaining as hell outside of even being funny. He uses his whole body when conveying an attitude or emotion. I went and watched Axe Murderer, the Powers trilogy and loved them even more now after Love Guru. I want him to make another movie and soon.

Like you ended off your colum-it's all about TDK baby! This was such a smart placement for HB2 because, I don't see any superhero movie touching the rest of the summer due to TDK nor do I see any action movie that will be more dynamic. So instead of getting buried by Bruce Wayne, BigRed aka HB2 was able to get his shine this weekend, crushing top spot (if even only by a couple of mil or so...), & enjoying the blitz that will be next weekend. I see Big Red holding down a steady #2 spot next week because of the overspill of people that won't be able to get into TDK-Big Red is better than Hancock (no offense Will) & the rest will be people like me that haven't got a chance to see Wanted/Wall-E/Kung-Fu Panda as yet. So, warm up the Bat-Signals and just enjoy the Caped Crusading goodness that will be TDK!!! & *FART* on "Meet Dave"-nobody is surprised by this stinker's lack of success. Eddie needs to smack his agent for continously killing his career & slap himself twice for lacking to produce something funny since the 90's & for: a)not keeping it in his pants, b) not taking responsibility or handling things with any sense of honour, & c) taking on payday projects in order to meet his palomony/support payments. I'm so disappointed in Eddie, it's just too bad he's not disappointed in himself enough to make the needed changes-can somebody PLEASE give him an actual excellent script like Dreamgirls or an actual funny script-PLEASE!?!?!?!?! & that's what really grinds my gears....TO THE BATMO-TUMBLER!!! (btw-I'm in Toronto and they had the Tumbler and BatPod in the heart of the entertainment district this Friday and they are AWESOME up close!!!-so thanx FSRs for the heads up on that!!!)

You couldn't be more wrong about the love guru, brilliantly funny and will do so much better in england, but perhaps it should have been released over christmas not during the busy summer period, i have already seen it twice its that funny. Mike Myers rules and is sheer genius. I saw meet dave and it wasn't anything special worth a watch if you're bored. Hellboy 2 is the one i'm going to see next.
