Film School Rejects: DVD’s I Bought This Week: February 17th

    Quarantine was a shot for shot copy of [REC] I still don't understand why the studio just didn't release the original Spanish film...for one the scares were better along with the acting....I'm very excited for [REC] 2 which it's trailer is already online....seriously when you do a remake of a foreign horror film...like The Ring it's made differently so that you can tell the two apart...this film looked like they took the original movie and just stuck in English speaking actors...American horror should be ashamed the genre is almost dead it's all remakes of old flicks..and now to the point of remaking newer films made in Europe....most recently Let The Right One In is already getting an American remake...

    Your taste is rather questionable. But, I send a lot of kudos your way for buying so many DVD's (OR IS IT ALL A FACADE???). I joke. You're awesome.

    I have a 10yo daughter so I'm ashamed to say I've seen HSM & HSM2, but so far have not seen the third. If you can get past the bland, crappy acting, and the bland, crappy storyline, the singing at least... never mind. It's just bland & crappy. But get it for your tween daughter - she'll love it.

    I feel ye, and now my 11 year old is trying to con me into seeing the Jonas Brothers movie, and I think I'm just going to have to pay her older sister off.

    I can pretty much watch anything (South Korean horror, 'The Passion of the Christ', even 'Faces of Death'), but I have girls (a teen and a tween), and there is no way I am going to watch Dakota Fanning get raped. It's the single thing from which I can not detach myself. Ugh.
