I think its a bad idea, though I'll admit this looks about 10x cooler than I thought - though that doesn't mean all that much really. Looks like it will have a style along the lines of 300 in terms of the look/realism.

Emmas the only reason to even bootleg the movie. They make Goku look like a power ranger without the costume.A white guy? Thats Hollywood for u. It didnt work for Forbidden Kingdom so why this movie?! Anyone else think Piccolo looks like an infected vamp from Blade II??Although that looks more like Frieza than anyone else.

Uhhh... God, I don't even know anymore. At first, I was worried about the Max Payne movie, but since THAT'S looking awesome, maybe the DB movie will come out the same way.

...Probably not. I thought they said they were keeping faith with Piccolo!? No green, no danglies - sure, he looks scary as shit (if you were to walk past him at a McDonald's, you'd shit yourself) but... uh, I dunno. But we are talking about 'evil' Piccolo here. I was gonna say there's no way I could see that guy training a five year old Gohan, but if they try to keep momentum going to make a sequel, maybe the Piccolo he spits out is, y'know, easier on the eyes.

Bulma = bangin. Simply put.

who the hell hear thinks this looks like battle star galactica meets meat loafs ass i mhave know idea who thought in a million years on a 1000 planits this would be ok, i Namek thats not green i agrea maybe blade will make a gest star apperance holy shit this is not good at all at best so far this looks third rate godzilla and i like godzilla. all i can think of know is that they pleace reconsider the piccalo thing cause thats ganna F the hole intire thing up is there even a scriped to this thing or they just making it up as they go i like DBZ and when it comes out i will go see it many times cause it just might be the first movie ever to be so bad that they dont bother making any DVD's for the film . but any ways i hope this gets alot better cause this is the most coolest show in the world i love the shit out of it sence i was a kid so i will pray

I've been waiting for this movie since i read about the possibility for a live action film in those Beckett Dragon Ball Z magazines when I was 10 or so. Now the movie is a reality and I really wish it wasn't. This looks terrible, but I'm going to have to see it just because I've had my hopes up. Ugh.

I know and his hair! We're are the kick ass cool looking huge spikes... I mean how can you have a goku with such short hair. That was one of the cool things about the show for me was when they turned supper seiyan and how they showed the difference in the hair and stuff along with some pretty kick ass fight sequences by a 13 year old's standards. Plus goku was ripped and strong looking this guy just looks so punny.

@Becky, thats from DragonBall "Z", the movie is based on the original series when Goku was still a kid-teenager, so it makes sense for him to not be "ripped" or even to go Super Saiyan.

I just notice something.....Chow Yun-Fat is playing Master Roshi.....so where are his sun glasses? Seriously the character was never without them unless he was Jackie Cun during the first tournament thingy

Have you guy's seen this movie yet? Can it really be judge by a couple screenshots? Honestly you got to see the movie before hating it. I agree Goku's spikey hair, Master Roshi's sunglasses Bumla's light blue hair... and Picclo's figure They are missing alot and yet I have not seen the movie yet.. Yes it looks bad but... It could be good. Who knows. But really guys judging a couple lame screenshot does not mean it's going to be bad.

STOP BASHING THIS FILM.....Akira Torriama aka THE CREATOR is the one who actually made all the big changes to this movie. so stop complaining about all the littlest things and grow up. i'm sure that some of you are at least over 5 years old and know how to stop complaining when every little thing doesn't go your way.

Actually Berny. All this stuff was James Wong idea since it's his adaptation. All Akira did was help with the script a little. And for everyone complaining about Piccolo, his effects will be added in with CGI and he will have antennae. If you look at his head you can see them and the might open up when he's sensing or powering up or something. Go to www.dbthemovie.com. There are more pics there. Piccolo looks great so stop bashing him and the movie.

Honestly, i think they messed up already. A big thing about dragonball is how they look. Everybody in the cartoon has a really difficult look to them. and the hair! come on! Gokus hair in the in snapshots looks terrible, bulma's hair is not even blue it has a strand a blue in it ( big whoop), Piccolo is not even green and looks nothing like piccolo. He looks more like something out of the third blade movie. And dude, just because Chow yung fat looked cool in crouching tiger dosent mean he will look cool as master roshi. As a matter of fact he looks more like some retired surfer goon then anything. I think the creators are freaking color blind! look at gokus clothes. Its yellow not orange like in the cartoon. They did so well with other superheroes but with this one, well lets just say a reputation is about to go down the shitter

Please do not take this personal its just that know one can make this movie(dragon ball or dragonball z) because you have no respect for the ORIGANAL STORY . first im not paying 12$ 2 go c hot chicks when i can do that for free. so evry1 who's being a virgin shut up. and my god these characters look like sh*t . wow. ppl grow up though u cant have everything like the cartoon originality is needed. sure goku spikes and bulma blue and piccolo being green is important but Cho Yun-Fat is a very good actor and if they made him with sunglasses and a beard it would work but again originality this isnt a cartoon. Justin Chatwin also a good actor makes me want to see him perform goku even though he is not my first choice for goku.( Jake Gyllenhaal) who is a better actor and can add the muscle and no i dont care if they use a white guy as long as he can act. i mean i look at this movie and i see The Dark Knight when i first heard Heith Ledger was playing the Joker i said what! what! what! what! then i saw brokeback mountain and cassonova and saw his acting skills and knew it would be good and hey i was right. Chatwin is no ledger but remeber the first screenshot of Ledger looked dumb 2 give it a chance.

yes i am a DB/ DBZ fan i cut my hand when i was 7 because i thought i was a sayian. Give it a chance remeber Ledger looked or sounded nothing like Mark Hamill portray in the animated batman series but the movie was great .

I don't get some people.. This is not a easy movie to make and so far from what I've seen the movie looks like its going to be great even if there's some changes.. I'm good with knowing their finally making the movie and the actors they have are good.. Let them finish the movie or at least the trailer before you judge it.. Ok. So... I'm right ticked off here at the mo... I started watchin Dragon Ball from it's early begginings when i was like 4, i'm 24 now. Here in Spain it was realeased long before it was in the UK and US AFAIK. I even have the orginial comic books sating 1989 god dammit! This is just wrong!! I understand they ain't gonna make all 25 movies that were realeased of DB, DBZ and DBGT but at least follow a decent story line. Piccolo? In the 1st movie? What about the Red Ribbon Corp? That was well before Piccolo. And wht's up with the suits? Goku started with a blue outfit and then had a red one once he joined the martial art tournament after Mutenroshi's training. Apart from the emblem switchin sides in 2 different screen shots, it doesn't even look like the right one and i can still draw it on a piece of paper off the top of my head... What are those outfits Piccolo's in? Where's Mutenroshi's turtle shell and sun glasses and why are they training in a cave? I have to say i like who they've chose for Bulma's part, she's hot but has anyone else noticed she should have blue/purple hair? Everyone's goin on about Piccolo's colour, but what about Bulma's hair colour and WTF is with Goku's hair? I know it can't be perfect, but at least try get it as close as possible. I just found out about this movie tonight, my mates don't even know bout it yet but when they find out, they'll be critising it as much as i am. Incredible the effects they can put forward to a DEAD cartoon as is Transformers or Hulk but for a legendary cartoon such as DB that still today anyone born in the 80's remembers, thy can't evenget the outfits right... Such a shame to see this happen... I will watch the movie, i'll prolly even buy the dvd, but that's only cos i'm hard core fan and have everything ever released on vhs/dvd and comic book so this can't be missing in the collection but must say i will NOT enjoy it and will defo critisize it...

(Trust me, there's a point to this looooong comment.) A few years back, I saw a trailer in theatres for an upcoming Transformers movie. I was old enough at the time to be all too aware of Hollywood and it's evil ways, and I was afraid that they were going to f**k up one of my most favorite cartoons. When it came out, my family had the choice of watching Transformers or some crappy chick flick. I decided to see Transformers, and I was shocked and overjoyed by so many things: the great story, the Academy-Award-worthy special effects, and, most importantly, staying as true as possible to the original. And from Michael Bay! The man who brought us the s**tpile movie "Armageddon"!

The point is, we just need to give Dragonball a chance. It may, without a doubt, be the worst cartoon adaptation in the history of mankind. It may also suprise us all and be the biggest hit for 2009. We'll never know until next summer. Until then, just hope Hollywood will be good to us.

And if I do so happen to waste two hours and twenty bucks on this movie, I will personally fuck up the idiot responsible!

The dragon balls where created by Kame and not sages....where is roshi's glasses,beard and why does he have hair and further more why is he young.....where is krillin.....a dissapointing start to the movie....its is just wrong.
why arent they showing the first fight between small goku and king piccolo....they cant start of with this....
