  • HERO261 · 1 year ago
yeah!! just went a week ago...gonna go again...
  • HempKnight757 · 1 year ago
I am considering it, but I figured I would be smart & wait for dvd. As far as them bringing it back for Jan. that is wack because they just want more money & the sheep will flock in.

BAAaHHH!! ahem..excuse me...Ive seen TDK a few times in theatres, and Ledger is the best comic villian ever. Hes def made me proud to like Joker over the Batman. Jack was good but all roles and typecast aside, he couldnt have been able to bring that kind of Joker to the screen. Blahh..blah..The Shining....blah blah..Easy Rider.. i just cant take him seriously.

lol just milk every last cent huh... i have no doubts they'll attract a crowd - just look
at how successful that viral campaigning was. yeah i'd prolly go see it again so long
as i can get some buddies to come with

Videoeta.com said that the dark knight had a december DVD release date. They will have to
pull a couple tricks out of their sleeves, or make a few pencils disappear, if they want DVD
owners to go back to the theater. Also they need to think about how many times people
have seen the film already. I"m at an embarrassing 3 times, and probably going for a
shameful 4th viewing this weekend. (This is how I pick up chicks. "I've seen the Dark Knight
4 times..I also like to build castles out of legos. Now lets retire to my parents basement
where I can show you my copy of the "Star Wars Christmas special" boot leg I have on VHS.
... I swear I've seen boobs in person before. )

Well, I'm very angry about the Harry Potter business, but heell yeah, count me in.
  • Alericc · 1 year ago
Heck yeah I still need to see it in IMAX and if they bring it around again I would go.
  • Ryan O'Brien · 1 year ago
I saw "The Dark Knight" 3 times
    IMAX: day after it opened
The first run theater owned by my boss 5 days later with 2 friends
IMAX: back to IMAX with an IMAX loving friend & one of the above who had never seen IMAX

Things is though, I work at a "dollar" theater (technically it's 2 dollars). I get all the movies
and popcorn and soda I want for me and up to 3 friends at a time. So I have no need to
keep paying over and over again anymore. I'll see it a couple more times there in October
or November then skip it for a while so I don't burn out on it

    I've seen it 8 times.
And if they release it in the IMAX theater close to where I live, you bet your bat nipples I'll go see it again.
Plus, I would do anything to knock down Titanic.
It's been number one for WAY too long.
If any movie deserves to sink the boat, it's this one.

I'll probably go see it. I think we can all agree there is something about going to see a movie you really enjoy in theaters after it's initial run is done. Mind you, usually I'd want there to be more than 6 months separation, and it could very well still be playing in the 'cheap' theaters (here) at that point in time, as they often run a few months behind the main chains.

If it was 5 years from now that they were doing this, I would go see it without question. I had a chance to see Fight Club last summer at a midnight movie festival, and because I never had the chance to see it in theaters the first time around, it was probably one of the coolest experiences I had. I think that's the kind of treatment this movie will get, either way.

I'm wondering why we don't do more re-releases of cool movies. It's tough enough to find classic films getting screen time, but finding Blade Runner or Fight Club or The Triology or Nightmare Before Christmas is more difficult than it should be.
  • 790 · 1 year ago
Nope, once was enough for me.
Thought the film was ok, nothing really to go nuts over. I had some problems with it overall.
I don't even think I'm gonna get the dvd.
  • Sam · 1 year ago
I think you'd need to find small independent theaters willing to do it, Cole. From the standpoint of a large chain, it's probably a fiscal risk because a lot of people have said (about current movies) that they would prefer to watch them at home on the couch on the dvd player. Of course, the fact that the theaters would probably charge ~12$ or whatever, that sort of discourages people.

That being said, I think it was 10$ for the fight club showing I went to, and the theater was packed.

I love the idea of a re-release. I was just thinking the other day that the buzz over The Dark Knight seemed to have stifled a bit, so this is a great way to remind Oscar voters that Heath Ledger rocked everyone's world.

I doubt it, I saw it twice in theaters. It's a great movie, but i doubt i'd go again to theaters.

This is actually fairly brilliant marketing. It only needs to generate about $87 million to take the top spot. If it holds pace right now, by a January push it will probably only need to pick up more like $75 million. With a nomination or two and a fanboy uprising, it is entirely possible to take the record, just maybe.

You bet I am going to see it again!!!!!!
I always wanted to bring along my dad to the Imax cinema for him to enjoy the movie which I am sure he will, yet there was always something that kept us from going together until it was no longer in any local Imax cineplex, now I am glad I will have another chance to take him to enjoy this movie!!!!!
  • Conor · 1 year ago
After I get the DVD, I'll definitely go see it again in IMAX or even a normal theater
  • AngieBatgirl · 1 year ago
Uh..hell yeah! I already saw it 6 times in the theater (had to beat my Attack of the Clones record) but I'd go see it again in a few months. Plus my birthday is in January so I'll just tell everyone to get me a giftcard for the movie theater :D
  • Rodney · 1 year ago
It seems to be too early to be talking about a January re release when the film is still playing in IMAX theatres.
  • Silver · 1 year ago
    Hell Yeah.
  • Nate · 1 year ago
Fuck yeah, something to divert us from all the other shit that plays in January

    what do u guys think?
  • ahmad · 1 year ago
I'll see it again. If the wife can see Wicked 3 times, I can see TDK 3 or even 5 times.
  • entertainmenttodayandbeyond · 1 year ago
With so many people owning huge wide screen HD Televisions I don't see very much interest after it comes out on DVD in December. The only way a re-release would really work is if Warner Bros held off on the DVD release for a yr, but we all know that will never happen!
  • Victor · 1 year ago
    Hellz to the YEAH!
I live in Venezuela, and i even Watch it 2 Times in a DAY!
i don´t know if they´re going to do that with the rest of the World (i Hope So) =(

    AnotherBREAK: An embarrassing three times?

Hell, I've seen it seven times... I got in for free some of the times, too. Thank you friend who works at a movie theater.
    :)
  • Sam · 1 year ago
I've been to see it four times in theaters, and I will most definitely buy the DVD when it comes out. As for January, I think this time around, I'll try to find it at an Imax where a friend went to see it saying that it was spectacular and much better than the conventional theaters. So, yeah. This sheep is sold. Again.
