This is interesting because one of the earlier Spiderman stories had a situation where Spidey had to team up with the Lizard to take down Morbius.
I don't think it's too far fetched. I mean, the previous movie had an alien goo turn someone into monstrous creature.

When was the last time we had a movie with actual vampires in it instead of the bastardized versions we've come to know in recent times. Vampires that don't die in sunlight? Vampire that don't drink blood? Nice Vampires? Change is good in context because it keeps things interesting.

Take Blade for example, and anomaly in a world largely consisting of vampires in the strictest sense of the word, that's interesting. On the other hand, take Twilight, all the "vampires" are the same, and they're wrong. They sparkle in sunlight instead of bursting into flames, some of them choose to be good instead of bad and don't drink the blood of humans. These are not vampires, they're simply things that borrowed a few of the nicer concepts of a vampire and threw away the ones that didn't really help the story.

I lament the death of the traditional vampire.

After taking a dump on my childhood, vomiting on my adolescence, and pantsing me very recently, and then showing the video to my now ex-girlfriend, I think the Spider-Man franchise has done enough damage with this team. They absolutely ruined Venom, who should have been an imposing dark character. I'm sure their concept for Morbius is going to be a leather disco suit, suction cup fingers, and a pig nose.

If they take Morbius seriously and do him right, they might have a chance, but why go with him when you're ignoring some of the all time classic villains like Rhino, Scorpion, Shocker, Carnage, Kraven, and Vulture?

No. No vampires in Spiderman. This isn't Dracula. I don't want Spidy to turn goth in this one or whatever. Keep it with Lizard, Vulture, hell, even Kraven. Fun villains.

Didn't Raimi kind of cover the vampire scene with 30 Days of Night? It seems like the Spiderman franchise is running out of storylines. Oh wait, that may because Raimi killed off almost every villain in the universe!

I would have to agree with Robert again, stop dude you are making me look bad. Rami is really killing this series, he started to lose me when he chose Kirsten Dunst for Mary Jane and the stories keep getting worse, not to mention the throw away villains.

Its sad that they seem to think the Villains in the Spiderman series are too corny but they kept Spiderman the same. I don't think they understand that the people coming to see the movies are there foe the comic series characters they grew up with.

On point: I think it's an awful choice only because there are other great choices out there. But I also realize that Raimi was publicly pitching the idea to gauge a response of sorts. Sort of sly., Raimi....

I was hoping for the Lizard, and that Kraven (Bruce Campbell) would come into town to hunt him. This sounds stupid, and I am casting out what was my favorite franchise (till Spidey 3). I used to visit AICN, but I am now a monogamous FSR reader.

I don't think morbius is a good idea at all, I don't want to se another dude similar to the bad guy on ghost rider, the one that kills everyone at the bar...i hated that guy (whatever his name was). And I'm sure that if they put a vampire on the spider-man movies, that is what it would look like...so thanks but no thanks.
I think Lizzard could be a very good villain, and i hope they don't bring the franchise down with a sucky pop movie, or try to cover to much like sp3 (that by the way, as a spider man fan, i hated it) and people end up unintrested in the whole plot...PLEEAAASE MAKE A GOOD SP MOVIE FOR ...THE LOVE OF BEN PARKER!!!!!!

I think it's an interesting idea. Having Morbius as a villian. Could bring him in when Spiderman\Peter Parker starts messing about with mutant genes to make himself more powerful in order to "take on the world" in a losing battle against crime. Might just work out.

What next? A Batman\Spiderman crossover movie?

I think with such a huge spurge of vampires in movies these days, we don't need to have another movie about vampires.

But I have a real question, why the hell would Marvel allow Raimi to continue to direct and work on Spiderman after what the did to 3?

The true villain here is Sam Raimi. He is like the Grim Reaper of the Marvel Universe.

My choice would be Lizard and Kraven. How could Kraven miss the chance of hunting a Giant Lizard and a man with the powers of a spide?

Why would Marvel allow Raimi to continue to direct? Maybe because SM3 made nearly $900 million worldwide, DESPITE all of us supposedly hating it. That's a neat trick.

Marvel had a lot more to do with force-feeding Venom into the movie than Raimi did, and I put more of the blame for SM3's transgressions on that choice. SM3 without Venom very well might not have sucked so hard. I think, if Raimi has passion for a character and storyline, we end up with SM2.

Concerns about vampire-movie-overload are valid, but if Raimi develops a good take on the material, and WANTS to execute on it, a solid rebound could result.

I don't think I completely believe they forced Venom on Raimi. I sort of think at first it was a way of keeping the lid on Venom. How could Raimi hate Venom but apparently love Morbius?

And either way, as director, its his movie. A lot of people are to blame. The script sucked, the casting sucked, the Venom design sucked and the movie sucked. I don't care how badly you hate something, when someone hands you millions of dollars and millions of fans, you don't take a dump and put a bow on it.

They should have The Lizard and Carnage maybe in the 5th. There was still some symbiote left when venom died. Doc Connors had some too. Spidey 3 would have been better with Vin diesel as Venom, i like topher but he's not a tough guy.

There are worse superhero movies out there(I enjoyed the third however) Get over it and stop insulting and bashing and why not give more sapport! Morbius in the context of the six-armed saga would be gold. Morby, the lizard, and Spiderman transformed and unable to open his smart*** mouth.

However the twilight comparison isn't even funny. I consider myself the #1 fan of the Morbster, and no one deserves to be compared to the romantic puppet from a crazy middle aged Mormon's fantasies. Not funny.

If Lizard comes without venom or carnage then people all over the world will still be very depressed and you don`t care sam you just care about how you feel about the villains, that`s wat you`re saying if you don`t revive venom andlet him team up with Carnage. what`s next, maybe he`s gonna tell Avi Arad to try deleting these comments and tell him if he doesn`t then he`s going to tell the whole world an embarrasing secret about him? then somebody will email me and say this website will put those comments back later but then they`re going to block access to this webpage and they`re gonna make an excuse that there`s been a connection error?

Dudes, dudes It's not Raimi. I DON"T want Morbias as a villian, I want the return of Venom and I wouldn't mind the Lizard. I could see why you thought I was him. I'm just getting tierd of all the hate towards him. He deliverd some awsome movies and just because ONE was off the marks, we should stick a knife in him??
I agree it could of been alot better, but the way I said that was like just give him another chance and get over it. I can see why theres huge dissapointment, is because it's SPIDER-MAN. There should be no flaw in it what so ever. Anyway i'm sure if Raimi were to post on here though it would be more profound than anything I'd have to say.

good, and Carnage? Although Spiderman 3 was not lame at all, I can`t believe people say that all the time about the film because it had lots of action, intensity, and the reason why Venom only got 15 minutes was, well, I think we know why, don`t we? And just because you thought Venom didn`t workout means you have to fear that they`ll screw this one up? come on guys, you know how big of a fan you are of the 2 greatest villains ever and that symbiote is still in Doc Connors classroom I think we have to get rid of it and guys Venom and Carnage can`t be in Spiderman 5 when Venom was already in Spiderman 3 instead of Spiderman 4 right? I said that on another website, Venom is the main villain along Carnage so he can`t come 2 movies earlier than the concluding presentation of the rest of the symbiote screentime, right? 3 villains is not too much at all, they made that work in Spiderman 3 so I think if they make Spiderman 4 longer then we won`t have to worry about it too much. And I think Sam Raimi should be really focused on this one if he disappointed so many fans like this, that`s the good thing about those complaints about Spiderman 3

Hey, glad we cleared that up. And ya, ive been trying to say that to pople that Spider-man 3 was awsome! I felt it did kind of lack on build up towards the characters but thats about it. Your right, Charnage as well definatly. I wanted Venom from the get go, but only if it was only him and if it worked out for the story. I'm only upset that they forced Venom in if it wasn't the right time. He should have been saved as the soul villian. And I agree, I hate it when people think just because they were upset about the third that the fourth will suck. tsk tsk. Damm, I'm despret to hear some news on it already. Oh and theres all the talk about 4 and 5 but I hope they still make a 6th to complete the saga. Maybe by that time the rights will revert back to Marvel and they will make the 6th and have crossovers and somehow still include the other five in with the rest of the Marvel movie/universe. Be like a "the turning point" of some sort.

ok, actually i changed my mind and decided to wait for venom and carnage til 5 and if there are only 4 movies and i get tired of spiderman 4 by watching it over and over again i`ll be done with spidey too quickly and people said spiderman 5 is only coming one year after 4 also people think 3 villains is too much so i want scorpion and lizard for part 4 and i want carnge introduced at the end of 4 and add venom and electro for 5 then 3 villains will workout. ok i used to think 3 was awesome but then i realized sandguy wasn`t really a villain and he got3/5 fights so that was the main reason why it wasn`t that great however they can stil team up
they can`t never use any more venom or carnage that symbiote is still in peter`s college am i right?

I say Go dark and Finish Big, Carnage should be the main villan in this film. I hate for this to follow in Dark Knights shadow, but Dark Knight raised the bar. You have to up the antie on this one. Why not a homicidal Maniac possesed by the spawned symbiotic offspring of Venom bent on flat our murdering everything in its path?

ok why can`t carnage be in Spiderman 5? if him and Venom were in a movie alone then how would it make a natural disaster for the series? why is it this hard to just get onto a point where we can use the symbiotes in the final movie to make the story right? It would really make these movies look weird to not use the story that is SUPPOSED to be the right way it is meant. so people, please, if there is no more Venom and Carnage, explain to me what they`re going to do with that symbiote peter showed to his proffesor? why should they avoid it if it`s still in connors` lab and he took its blood test? what are they going to do, just get rid of it some how? so connors is gonna be like,"oh, we should have never tested this thing in the first place, it`s too dangerous." and he`s just gonna look at peter like he`s some kind of adjacent taking prospector? guys, just let them be in part 5 to get it out of the way, if there is no more symbiotes then it`s just going to make everything more complicated and make the series look very awkward. why do people want to change the plot so badly? however, we`re still not the director.
