Film School Rejects: Discuss: Should Anna Faris Play More Serious Roles?

  • ddog · 1 year ago
thers never too many deep throat puns!
personally i would lvoe to see anna do some more serious work! she IS talented she needs better work. maybe a dramedy at least. a james l brooks movie seems to be good for her maybe even a noah baumback flick or maybe just maybe a wes anderson piece.

After she played 'herself' wonderfully in Entourage, I was convinced then and there that Faris could actually do well in less slap-stick roles. I think her performance in this film will make or break her and I'm looking forward to seeing the former.

She had a role in the not-funny and fairly serious flicks Brokeback Mountain and Lost in Translation, though she played up the ditzy, humorous type in both.

I think that Anna is a believer of "If it's not broken, don't fix it.". If she wants to keep on making us laugh, then let her. She's got great comic timing and has done a few serious roles in the past (May and Lost in Translation). She probably will eventually do some drama movies or maybe even another horror movie like May.

watta tard...doest she want to make some dough, more roles means more money. what
actor wants to play the same role??? branch out, their gonna run out of "Scary Movies"
    sooner or later.

I actually like Faris for some reason. Obviously she's cute. I think she's capable of more than what she's doing. Although, if she would just start doing smarter comedies, that would be a good start.

I wish she'd play with my cock pouch.

"Faris’s reason for quitting the project was precisely that she wanted to focus on comedies."

I've worked with her and know her, and I can tell you for sure that's not true, Anna and the director, had creative differences over the way they wanted to do the nudity in this film.

You know, that had crossed my mind, too. Usually when an actor wants to pursue other career options it's a polite way of saying they had creative differences. It's too bad, too. I hope she finds something that really works for her in the near future. I think everyone sort of sees that there's more to her than just the ditzy blonde streak.

Anna would have made a great move by portraying the role...that is if she really has the chops. Needless to say nudity or not, if she really wants to be considered for great roles she needs to make different choices.
