Wait, wait, wait - you said the directors cut is on dvd and bluray but the extra 25 minutes is listed on the features on the bluray that aren't on the dvd?

Is the directors cut on dvd a different cut to the bluray, that is identical to the theatrical?

yes the director's cut will be on both Blu Ray and DVD..although you might want to wait for the Ultimate Cut..since it will have Black Freighter included in the film

I think it is a mistake to include Black Freighter into the film. The story slowed down my reading of the comic and it may slow down the film as well.

I love it. Dark Knight AND Watchmen, two great movies, both get their raspy voiced anti hero slapped onto the cover in as unbecoming a pose as possible. I have to give it to WB for the consistency. I may not like it, but if that's the sacrifice the island demands for a good movie, I'll take it.

Yeah, probably, huh?

Still, I'm digging the chance to check out the extended version. The fact that Snyder was so reverent to the graphic novel both made it kinda silly (the intentional corniness Moore infused into many scenes plays too seriously film) and kinda awesome (when the hell are you ever going to see some of that weird, graphic, freaky, over-the-top shit in any other major Hollywood release?).

So odd as it sounds, sure, bring on that extra 25 minutes. I don't think it's going to make Watchmen a great film, but it could make it an even more entertaining experience.

Are they still going to have the Black Frieghter Edition which is suppose to cut back in the animated TOTBF into the movie along with having it as the extended edition?

I'm slowly getting very angry that most of these new releases don't include a director's commentary....being a film nut I think the commentary overshadows the importance of deleted scenes or making of specials...I felt ripped off when I bought the Dark Knight Special Edition and there wasn't a Nolan commentary....you think with films of these sizes the directors would enjoy explaining the hard work that went into the film...I do hope Snyder does a commentary since he did one with Dawn of The Dead and 300...

I actually would like to see the extra 25 minutes and feel it can complete the movie more. Blu-Ray is best for this because I will need a good 15 minute breather in the middle. Never been big into watching the movie over and over with various versions and what not, just want to watch it again once.
