if you notice a majority of male Hollywood stars are mostly from other countries ie. England, Scotland, Wales, Australia, New Zealand and Canada....the American action star is almost a thing of the past...it's really only down to Leonardo DiCapro, Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf

Today's "stars" are all shine and no substance. Thank goodness there are a few real "actors" still out there--like Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Paul Giamatti, to name a few.

Shia LaBeouf is not an action star. The advertisers want him to be one. But he most definitely is not. At least not in my book. And what about Clint Eastwood and Gran Torino? Aging star makes a shit load of money. When I went the theater was sold out with about 75% high school and college kids. And what about Christian Bale? I believe he has become a bonafied movie star. But yeah he is from Wales...

Transformers 1-2, Indy 4 and Eagle Eye...thats enough as much as I dislike his acting he is an action star...Eastwood will never star in a film again so that's another American action hero gone...Willis may still be kicking around but his horrible comedy work is ruining his career...

You're forgetting Johnny Depp. He only fits your third criteria - his name guarantees butts in the seats - but that's enough. After his run in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and as Willy Wonka, his name is enough to attract young & old alike. And he's the best actor of our generation (I'm talking 30-something & under) - just watch Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas if you don't believe me. I know acting ability doesn't qualify someone as a movie star, but shouldn't it?

Eric Bana is a movie star, hardly. I never seen one of his movies that have been recieved well by both critics and fans, if he has fans. If I were to ask ten people on the street who Eric Bana was, maybe one or two would know. He is an actor, not a movie star. Dupilcity looked like oceans 14, with no one else besides Julia Roberts playing a one dimentionally bitch for hour and 30 minutes with Clive Owen thrown in as one dimentionally subservate man that is so common in movies today; because female impowerment means that a male character can't have any balls. The movie seems to be nothing new. The way the preview is setup you know that they will get away it in the end, but who really gives a shit. This has been done, and it has been done better.
