I scoped this out when it played at Tribeca last year and got to interview Meeks and Graves. They were real nice guys and they're very passionate about what they do, but it's just not a good movie. I wanted to like it, especially with the Henkel name attached, but I ended up just sort of respecting it more than actually enjoying it.

I saw it and loved it. I appreciated the obvious heart that went into it and the 70's vibes Meeks and Graves were able to channel. It must be hard to get a 2009 audience to readily accept the old school CGI-less ways. I bet in a number of years it might be viewed differently. For now, I suppose it's a love or respect kind of movie. Better than being a love/hate one! laugh

If you check out my other reviews and reviews Jim_Rohner has done, you'll find neither of us are really part of a "2009 audience." Personally most of my favorite horror films are from the 1980s, long before CGI was common and I've complained about CGI many times in Boiling Point.

Glad you loved the movie though.

Yah personally I dug this flick too....the coolest thing about it was the balls it took to even ATTEMPT something like this these days. Really the fact that it was distributed at this level, or any level, says something about it, imho. At any rate, it's good to see IFC actually releasing some pure indys again
