I'm kinda looking forward to Friday the 13th the design looks pretty cool, I had until recently thought that it was a remake so I wasn't expecting a hockey masked Jason, I was hoping for am updated Tom Savini Jason to pop up out of the water as was the end to the original but if it's good them I am all for it.

As for a new Nightmare film, Freddy with Robert Englund is wrong but if they get someone good to replace him then it may work but you can't beat the original.

Have you heard about who they may get to play Freddy, cuz I've heard everybody from Michale Rosenbaum (Smallville), Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma) and even Johnny Depp were in talks to do it.

I hope when you say "varying quality" in regards to Wesley Strick's work, I hope you're considering "Wolf" among the good variety - a film that subverted many werewolf film stereotypes.

I think The Elm St remake could be very interesting simply because the overall premise is still one of horror's best . Many forget, but Craven's later sequel titled Wes Craven's New Nightmare was a terrfic movie and that was the last stand alone freddy movie.
