I know lots of people who saw Star Trek this weekend and it opened at $72 million. I along with one other person I know of saw Wolverine opening weekend and it opened at $87 million...... Weird

I just got back from Star Trek and loved it. As a virgin concerning anything Trekkie, I was happy as hell that I wasn't alienated against. I'm so glad there are still people out there who know how to make movies!

But what the frick is Ebert's problem? He got beef with movies the masses love? How the hell does he give Next Day Air a better rating than Star Trek? Than Wolve-fricken-rine?!? I don't know about you (attn. R. Fure) but I am pissed (but mostly confused).

Thanks for the handy info about ST. I saw it opening Thursday at IMAX. I'm really knowledgeable about Trek I wrote my Master's Thesis on the subject and I can honestly say this was the best ST movie ever made from a pure entertainment aspect. I like some of the action sequences even though I never like jumpy filming with lots of flashing lights which this had and I wouldn't see it on IMAX the closeups are too much. All that said I have a burning desire to go back again and take my wife who doesn't really like TOS. I loved this movie I think it will have a stronger than normal showing in the coming weeks because the plot and the acting were superb. Action is secondary you will find yourself really caring about the characters.
