I thought Adventureland would have a bigger opening.. I am guessing Kristen Stewart didn't spread her snatch on screen

So really you're just disappointed that Kristen Stewart didn't have a bigger opening.

Poor Adventureland. I went in expecting something akin to Superbad, and while it wasn't lacking in the laughs department, it was a lot more respectable than I thought it would be. Usually "coming of age" stories don't do anything for me, but this was really great.

I don't know if all of the movies that are expected to bring in the "gravey train" this summer will. People are starving for adrenaline rush, "take my mind of off my problems" kind of movies. The same thing happened during the depression, people flocked to the movies. People want good entertainment for their money also. Who better to chear on than people robbing petro turcks and racing street illegal cars!

I have noticed an increase in both Time Warner and AT&Tcable trucks in my area neighborhoods of Costa Mesa, Santa Ana, Tustin, Irvine and Newport Beach here in California. People will be going to the movies or doing the pay-per-view at home. I don't know of too many people here who have bought season passes to the big parks (Sea World, Disneyland, Universal, Six Flags.) And Verizon wireless has been heavily rotating their "Hub Center" commercial to the point were I can repeat it in my sleep.

My friend works for the Weinstein's and they have been sending out less advance screening tickets this year compared to the previous two years. We pre-screened Tropic Thunder and three other films that have yet to be released. Hollyweird is in a holding pattern until they see how the economy and summer box office does.

For anybody who has seen this movie: Did this film have real cars doing real stunts?
I remember Tokyo Drift was filled with lots of awful cg car sequences. As far as I'm concerned, the only draw to these movies is seeing real cars do cool real stunts (and I'm not even a rev-head)...

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Fast and Furious doing this well is not good for anyone.

Adventureland was hurt because there was a huge lab issue with their 35mm prints.. the last reel for many many prints did not have a soundtrack on it (SDDS), and those houses without a different digital format available had to refund a lot of people....

Wow they did all that busness and I havent even gone to see F&F yet, but I am rectifying that with tonights showing.

    Oh and SWALLOW ADAM SWALLOW...........

Why all the hate for the Fast and Furious movies? I get that it's more style over substance, very very thin on plot, even thinner on character development, and cgi that's done over-the-top, but you gotta give it some love - it's a movie on cars that reaches out every driver out there who's ever been tempted to push his or her car past the speed limit, and it doesn't try to be more than that. But you gotta hand it to the guys who did the trailer though... the song in it was just too catchy and addictive, it lured me to the cinemas to watch it instead of waiting for the dvd release.

    Just my two cents.

"style over substance, very very thin on plot, even thinner on character development, and cgi that's done over-the-top..."

Yeah, that's more or less why it's getting all the hate. It's a bad film.

    Holy career resurrection, Batman.

Just goes to show what American moviegoers actually want. Do you realize that it just matched There Will Be Blood's worldwide total. Thats a shame.

I think this is why Adeventureland flopped, and this blog proves it. Everyone here is so smug.

Adventureland appealed only to stupid little hipster kids, where as F&F appealed to Latinos, White Females, Asians, and blacks.
