Always nice to find a fellow Hiaasen fan. "Sick Puppy" is one of my favourites, I also love "Lucky You" - try it next. Basically, all his books are brilliant.

I read "Skinny Dip" which was pretty awesome. Kinda seemed like "Get Shorty," but I'm not suggesting that Barry Sonnenfield direct it.

Sick Puppy was the first Hiaasen book I read, and I loved it. I'm now almost
finished with Basket Case. His plots would definitely translate well for Coen
Brothers comedies. I'm going to have to say John Goodman would probably make
    a good Stoat.

He recently wrote a great book about why bad golfers torture themselves (ourselves?). It's called The Downhill Lie. It showcases the same wry humor he is so well-known for, but the target demographic is pretty limited to people who play -- or know someone who plays -- golf.
