Twilight Saga: New Moon Sets Records, Hauls in $140 million
While it does indeed suck, at least studios give us those direct to DVD releases, and big box stores give us deals on horror films. So I guess all isn't lost if you're a fan of scares.
You have to be careful with some straight to DVD releases, trust me, I bought Zombie Nation thinking it was a good film because of the box art and plot details, but both of those lied, that movie was a turd wrapped up in pretty paper.
Give us a break and actually put a few new ideas out there and they will see the returns.
I've been bugging publicists over Quarantine but they haven't given us anything. It looks good and comes from a good source, so we'll see.
Agreed. No matter how bad it is, you release a horror movie called "Trick 'r Treat" around Halloween and you get a 20+million opening. And if its actually good, you might make 50.
The article is talking about theatrical releases. Lots of horror films come to DVD in a month, but most are crap. "Pieces" and "The Beyond" are actually two worth checking out, but they're still not new big screen releases, rather just old movies finally getting a decent DVD release.
