Film School Rejects: Blu-ray Report: Benjamin Button, Serial Killers and Tons of Travolta

I thought Benjamin Button's effects actually hindered the performances of the actors. I felt the performances of Pitt and Blanchett were too synthetic, too manufactured, and that's because at many points in the film, they were. Plus, the storytelling in this movie was extremely pompous. Translating a 27 page short story into a 165-minute big-budget epic, David Fincher and screenwriter Eric Roth diluted the original narrative more than they added to it.
