The 1931 Dracula. Theres no greater Vamp than Bela!
  • Eric · 1 year ago
My favorite vampire movie has to be Night Watch, not because it is the best vampire movie,
but because it's extremely badass and the whole universe is awesome. It's just sad they
    wont be making a third.
  • Daniel · 1 year ago
The Lost Boys. Best cheesy fun popcorn flick of the 80's.
  • Patrick Ramser · 1 year ago
    The Lost Boys.

It's very comic book-esque to me and I love that. The characters are all well-drawn and they interact in ways that's not traditional to the vampire genre. I also love how the characters in the story come together, it's cheesy in a way, but adorable none the less. Plus, Kiefer is totally awesome in that movie.
  • Taylor · 1 year ago
My all-time favorite vampire movie is actually QT/RR's From Dusk 'til Dawn. The combination of every crucial element to the story is depicted accurately and above par. But other than that, pulpy goodness
  • David Bertolo · 1 year ago
Nosferatu----One of the great celebrations of cinema
  • Elac · 1 year ago
Interview with the Vampire. It film that best explores what it would be like to be given both the curse and gift of undeath. Great film, plus it was Kirsten Dunst's best film. Sad she peaked so early, but a hell of a movie to do it in.
  • Harold · 1 year ago
i like blade/blade ii - i'm not a big fan of vamp films or the aristocratic monster but
'let the right one in' sounds more interesting than your usual fare so i'm game
  • Mikey · 1 year ago
Okay I may have a different taste than the others, but I really liked first Underworld. I found it to be pretty entertaining with Kate Beckinsale as the lead.

Fright Night!!!! Pure awesomeness...but I just saw "Let the Right One In" tonight and it blew my mind...in all the right ways!
  • agordon10 · 1 year ago
i really like the old christopher lee movies
  • Chris · 1 year ago
I really dug John Carpenter's Vampire$. I thought James Woods' portrayal of Jack Crow was great, I really dug the character of Valek, and Carpenter's score rocked. Granted, it wasn't as good as the John Steakley novel, but it was nice to see a vampire film more along the lines of a western (loved that southwestern setting). Plus you can't go wrong with the hooker Katrina played by Sheryl Lee.
  • amydawn · 1 year ago
I would have to say "Buffy The Vampire Slayer." While I'm extremely excited for 'Let the Right One In,' I've never been huge on the scarier elements of vampire culture. Buffy is hilarious and fun, and it's great to see a girl kicking butt and taking names. I love films that cross genres like Buffy does because it brings people together. This is a great movie for me to watch with my horror-obsessed younger brother when I can't handle the obscure and scary things he usually watches.

And, it's not all about vampires, but I love Dracula in "The Monster Squad" so much...
  • Wes · 1 year ago
I was exposed to "The Brides of Dracula" by a babysitter back in the 60's. The weekly Creature Feature flick, this one from Hammer with Peter Cushing. I remember viewing it on a B&W TV which only added to the transylvanian creepiness. Hot vampire women! I blame this above all for my love of vampire.
  • Doreen · 1 year ago
I loved "Interview with a Vampire". It had two goegeous guys ...and I loved each of their roles. The movie was dark, evil, sexy and .....I was lost in the movie.
  • Aaron · 1 year ago
The first Vampire movie I remember both watching all the way through and liking at the end was John Carpenter's Vampires

I like almost all but all time favorite is "Dracula Dead and loving it", It's funny and brings a nice twist to the Vampire world!
  • Tony Ricci · 1 year ago
My favorite vampire movie is Sangre Eterna (Eternal Blood) when I first saw this movie I
loved it and anyone that enjoys vampire flicks should check it out. The scene when they are
first playing the Vampire Masquerade-like game and the girl rips out throats with like the
scissor rings, you just know the whole movie is going to rock.
  • JT · 1 year ago
Subspecies -- just the first one. It takes classic vampire elements and blends them with the classic blood feud. And Radu gave me nightmares.
  • The Comedian · 1 year ago
I would have to say The Lost Boys. I can' get over how much it feels like E.T. Meets Hook. It is so much fun!

Plus, I am driving 7ish hours to watch Let The Right One in when it plays at the Charles Theatre on Nov 14th. I deserve the poster/book package!

    :)

The Brides of Dracula” I remember this from my childhood
  • Jim W. · 1 year ago
    Nosferatu
  • Susan Stewart · 1 year ago
I'd have to go with "The Fearless Vampire Killers" from the 60s. It features Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate and it has stuck with me since my childhood.
  • Phillip Frangules · 1 year ago
My favorite vampire movie would have to be Near Dark. Of all the "modern vampire" films, I think this one takes the cake. It's both scary and realistic, and all the actors are great. It also breaks away from most of the 'cliches' about vampires (such as fangs and turning into bats) but retains just enough to be iconic. It's a shame that so many people don't know about it.
  • judy brittle · 1 year ago
My favorite would have to be The Lost Boys. Its a fun movie all the way through and the soundtrack is one of the best ever made. I never tire of seeing the movie and listening to the soundtrack.
  • ellen cunningham · 1 year ago
My fav would have to be Salem's lot. Thanks
  • Eva · 1 year ago
Queen of the Damned or Interview with a Vampire I can't decide...
  • S · 1 year ago
let the right one in - because it is so unconventional, disturbing, and touching.
  • charles · 1 year ago
When I was a kid I watched Nosferatu, Bela in Dracula, and countless others. But when it's all said and done, Bram Stokers Dracula by Francis ford coppola had the biggest impact on me. I remember reading the script book(that I checked out from Cameron Village Library) during lunch in elementary school(5th grade). Man I loved that movie when I was a kid.
  • djjeffhall · 1 year ago
My favorite Vampire film would be the 1931 Dracula. Nosferatu is a much better (And for that matter, the Spanish version of the film was better as well.) film, but Lugosi set the bar that has never been eclipsed.
  • Ken Robinson · 1 year ago
“The Fearless Vampire Killers”. Sharon Tate was such a delightful voluptuous treat for a vampire to bite.
  • Kyle Chase · 1 year ago
Near Dark- The vampires are so different from the seductive mansion dwellers that usually inherit the genre plus it has an amazing cast and that great bar scene
  • Devon Pack · 1 year ago
Blade. Hands down it just gets your blood pumping!
  • PHackett · 1 year ago
I think From Dust to dawn was a good one, but I like all the old Vampire movies
  • Don · 1 year ago
The Lost Boys....a classic from my day....Gotta love the Frogg Brothers.
  • Bradley C. · 1 year ago
My favorite vampire movie of all time would have to be "Interview with the Vampire". It offers an intimate look at vampire life throughout the ages, and the main characters are all very interesting. It puts a human face (so-to-speak) on an immortal creature of legend.
  • Bommy · 1 year ago
Let the Right One In. The cinematography is amazing, every shot is gorgeous like the close-ups of Eli and Oskar when the first few times they meet. It's just a really original story with a lot of layers that is beautifully told. Shocking but at the same time deeply moving and sweet.
  • Elizabeth · 1 year ago
I'm always going to be partial to the first vampire film I remember seeing, The Lost Boys. The music is still on my mp3 player and it still brings back memories of being younger and thinking I was watching the coolest movie ever. Maybe it's not high cinema, but it's a movie that will always be with me, and I find that more important.
  • Danny Davis · 1 year ago
My fav vampire flick is definitely Interview With The Vampire. I am a huge Anne Rice fan and I was very happy with how the film stacked up to the novel.

i like the old black and white spook films
  • Peter · 1 year ago
I like "Dracula Is Dead... and Well and Living in London."
  • Eric · 1 year ago
My favorite vamp flick has to be Nadja. It re-envisions vampires as very emotional and sensual
beings rather than violent ones while still managing to include many classical vampiric elements.
  • Jennifer Barnett · 1 year ago
    Interview With a Vampire.

Lost Boys - It's just so awesome. And has probably two of my favorite lines in any movie:

"You missed, suckah." "Only once, pal."

    and

"One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach, all the damn vampires."

    HOW DO YOU BEAT THAT??!?!?!?
  • Amanda · 1 year ago
Interview with the Vampire because it was the best movie that Tom Cruise and Kirsten Dunst ever did.

i love interview with a vampire. the movie vrought the book to life for me and brad pitt was gorgeous!
  • Elva · 1 year ago
I loved Frank Langella's interpretation of the vampire in Dracula. That movie seemed to follow what I had read in books pretty well. Vampire movies usually did not really involve me emotionally until I watched the scene with Sir Lawrence Olivier and his on screen daughter, Mina.

I was so moved by his heartbreak. That was great acting by a great actor. I thought Langella came across as evil and hollow, yet his presence commanded attention onscreen. I was drawn to him as a woman because his character was virile, sexy, yet tragic. His eyes were deep and drew you in. You wanted to be with this man, dangerous or not.

    I Am Legend.

Oh, wait, I was thinking of the book. Too bad. :P

I saw Let the Right One In back in April and it instantly became my favorite vampire film.
  • Rusty Rowley · 1 year ago
Even just having seen it last night, I would honestly have to say "Let The Right One In". It was just so centered in the mundane reality of everyday life that the supernatural elements seemed even more exciting and also more believable.
  • bcarter3 · 1 year ago
"The Hunger", from 1983, for the incredible cast (Catherine Deneuve, Susan Sarandon, and...David Bowie) Nice and subtle.

  • Sito · 1 year ago

  • Catharine M · 1 year ago

I would have to go with the Lost Boys because this was the first vampire movie I ever saw, was set in Santa Cruz (sorry "Santa Carla"), had a great soundtrack and had that great 80's feel to it. I still get "Cry Little Sister" stuck in my head sometimes.
