I hope that Christopher Nolan . Realy works hard on making a well - rounded screenplay . Like he did with The Dark Knight ! And doesn't ( god forbid) make a X-Men 3 : The Last Stand type movie !

I think that's pretty reasonable, Nolan should have had a long enough vacation.

I would like to se Nolan do some other films before the next Batman. I do want there to be
another Batman though.

I'm most very excited about this for a whole variety of reasons.

1) I want Nolans third Batman (Obviously)

but more exciting is 2) To convince him I'm fairly sure WB are gonna have to greenlight a couple of passion projects for Mr Nolan which rocks in like 9 ways.

I didn't feel the Dark Knight was that much about batman, it was more about the joker, batman kinda took a back seat (i'm not saying that's a bad thing at all), I would just like to see some more character development for him, hopefully in the third one they will do some more of that.

JuicyT r u kiddin me? Batman had no character development in TDK? I agree that it was about the Joker, but it was about showing what Batman can and cannot be so IMHO it was okay. Don't know why you think Batman's character was not developed?

True. Batman learned what he NEEDED to become in order to continue as Batman. That he alone would be Gothams Knight simply because noone else was capable (Hence..Harvey/Two Face). I do agree that TDK was stolen by Ledger's(RIP) Joker but his scenes were nowhere near as long as Batmans or Harvey's. He simply shined more with his character. Speaking of..how many of us are goin out as Joker this Halloween..huh? Comn...i know you will cause I am too..I wont lie about it.. :D

i dressed up as ledgers Joker last year and scared the crap out of everyone at penn station and nyc parade. this year im standing out and going as the nurse joker. heh.

apparently, nolan wrote 'the keys to the street' and is contracted to do 'the prisoner.' i personally think that its more his style to do a different movie before he decides to do batman 3. its most likely just rumor bs at this point and way to early to start pre production. but hey- in the end, im all for him finalizing this trilogy and completing the best damn batman series to date. Nolan- take your time!!

I would rather see Nolan direct the tv show "The Prisoner" instead of going into another BATMAN movie. Nolan's two BATMAN movies are problay without question the best serious comic-book adaptation to film. His two BATMAN movies along with Bryan Singers two X-MEN flicks would rank as the best of it's types within this genre. As much as I would like to see a third BATMAN directed by Nolan with the Riddler and CATWOMAN it would be good to see Nolan tackle the "THE PRISONER" movie the way Nolan made "THE PRESTIGE" after "BATMAN BEGINS". If any lesser director handles "THE PRISONER" we might get a movie on the same levels as the three crappy "MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE" movies. Nolan is one of the few filmmakers on the world stage today that can do justice and bring out the mindbending qualities of the famous '60 tv show. Once Nolan has made "THE PRISONER" he can then move onto BATMAN 3.

My personal opinion is that Nolan should certainly take his time (and perhaps do a different movie or take an extended vacation), but eventually there should be a third Batman. TDK is far too dark and inconclusive to be the last of the series. Given that, there are a lot of pitfalls to avoid - Godfather III, Spiderman III, Matrix III, Pirates of the Caribean III. I think what makes these films so terrible is the extensive borrowing of material from the other two previous movies as well an excessive reliance on large budgets (and not enough on real thought into the screenplay and cinematography). The key is to spend time developing a unique screenplay that keeps the tone and thematic elements of the other films, but puts a new twist on it that gets people thinking; this is really a lot simpler than people acredit it to be. The key is to not go too crazy and have (for example) Batman suddenly be this annoyingly cocky, blissful hero that everyone loves (spidey III); it is also important to retain the realism of the first two films. Sorry for length, but that's my 2 cents.

PS - I think the riddler would be perfect for Depp and that the Penguin was a cool villain.

I believe he'll make it. Bring in jonny depp as the ridler. and bring in daniel day lewis to replace heath ledger as the joker and as the first one was about his rise, the second one about his prime, i believe the third will be about his downfall

Well Ledger was the best Joker i have ever seen....I want to see Johnny Depp be the riddler but i also heard of therm putting on eddy murphy....i REALLY dont want that to happen...i want them to have catwoman of course but i really want them to bring back POISEN IVY!!!!! She was my favorite woman villan...I dont want Angelina Jolie to be cat woman bc she would make it to risque and there are many children goning to see this film and i certainly dont want an over sense of sensuality to comlpeatly over thake the movie

jonny depp or benicio del toro as the joker though i think depp would be excellent as riddler as well , ray winstone or philip seymour hoffman as penguin, sarah michelle geller as harley quinn, adrian brody as the riddler. helena bonham carter would be a good addition too maybe as catwoman or poison ivy , can't have to many villains but a lot for nolan to choose from.

my only question about depp in the new batman is why didn't he get cast by burton in the two batman movies he made . depp has been in so many of burton's movies and hes the kind of actor burton would want in his movie . easily could have made him the riddler or another character in his 2 movies ( i realize that burton didnt make 3) definitely why it wasnt anywhere near as good as the first 2. jim carrey was the only good thing about it!
