Film School Rejects: Austin Critics Go Batty, Pick The Dark Knight as Best of 2008

I'm completely tired with all of this 'Go Dark Knight' stuff. I personally I'm now completely against the Austin critics. Perhaps its just the movie buff in me, but I would truly say( With honesty) that the Dark Knight wasn't that impressive. A poor storyline, filled in with action scenes. I'm a fan, and call me a hypocrite, but I don't like it that much. Entertaining? Yes. A good movie? Sure. Best of '08? Hell no! I'm tired of seeing Slumdog and Milk behind TDK, I recently watched those movies and instantly fell in love. Both are great, and I'm still not sure which I prefer. By far though, they were better then TDK. Not to mention do any of you know of In Bruges? That movie was even better then TDK! Call me whatever you like, say I'm stupid. I don't care, I just really don't comprehend how people consider TDK amazing.

Ditto to that. But if The Fall deserves recognition for anything it's definitely Cinematography. That film is gorgeous.

Wow, I was never expecting for The Fall to get much recognition in the awards circuit, much less an actual win, props to Austin.

Again, I feel Kristin Scott Thomas is getting robbed by Anne Hathaway, who delivered a significantly inferior performance, and it's disheartening. Also, I really don't see how The Dark Knight is better than Slumdog Millionairex, aside from quotable lines...to each their own I suppose.

I agree with the Austin critics top ten more than any other list I have seen yet.
