Film School Rejects: Another Epic Trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

  • Kangaroo Be Stoned · 7 months ago
I like the trailer but I do not like that they showed what looks like Harry and Snape fighting. That's a horrible edit.
  • JDV · 7 months ago
They could have excluded that bit with Snape. Otherwise that was an excellent trailer -- Epic, exciting, ominous, it had it all.

I am worried that there will be too much teenage romance.
  • MrDeath · 7 months ago
Well, to be fair, half the book is teenage romance.

Also, it's kinda hard to see in this trailer, but is Professor Slughorn the same guy who was Stanford's sheriff in Hot Fuzz?

This is far from a new trailer. This trailer was released in australia forever and a day ago? From memory it was the first full length trailer that hit here.

    Really?

Film school themselves posted it... unless there is maybe 1 second of new footage that i missed?
  • Kangaroo Be Stoned · 7 months ago
That is a completely different trailer; Different scenes, different narration, different music, different dialogue.
  • Braedee · 7 months ago
What the hell... not for me:S

Its actually exactly the same.. scene for scene for me..

Are you from Australia? Is it possible that we get filtered the previous trailer due to the new one not being released here yet or something?

Its actually the EXACT same trailer on my end...

    :S

It's not on your end. The embedded video is indeed the old trailer. Neil screwed up. :) Underneath the embedded video, there are direct download links. Right click on the 480p link and "Save Link As" or "Save Target As" to download to your computer. Make sure you have a player capable of viewing .mov files. VLC Media Player works fine.

Haha yeah, im familiar with the formats :P, im just normally too lazy to download. Ill go do it now.

Cheers for clearing that up i thought i was going crazy haha.

Ok, so is this another Harry finds out about Voldamort and no one beleives him like the last 5 movies? I kind of gave up on these films after the third one. Not to mention that most of the "Magic" use was probably all seen in the trailer.

"Ok, so is this another Harry finds out about Voldamort and no one beleives him like the last 5 movies? I kind of gave up on these films after the third one."

Incorrect. That only happened in film 5.

Yeah. That's the downside to the book, in my opinion.

That's Jim Broadbent. He played Inspector Frank Butterman in "Hot Fuzz".

Ohh stop posting new trailers and get on with releasing the film already! People are gonna watch The Half Blood Prince anyway even if they only settled with one trailer. Jeez.

Ditto!!! I'm one of those fans who was pissed that they moved the date in the first place. This is just WB's way of pacifying us, keeping us interested until the damn movie actually comes out. However I am also one of those fans who has already requested July 15th off from work. My 11yo daughter and I plan to go see it, and if we like it, maybe twice in one day. ;)

Good trailer. I only wish that Deathly Hallows ended in such a way that the entire series would have been good. I was pretty disappointed in the last one, with a few major gripes that showed some uneven writing. It was like "well it's the end and even though I've already written 700 pages I think I need to wrap up several things in a mere page and move on. Also, I shall make the last chapter read as if a child wrote it."

Ok, since the Star Trek-Nimoy thing, you're one of my gods, and I hate to disagree with one of my gods, but I thought the last book was very solid. The last chapter did feel kind of rushed, and I really wish we could've seen what happened with more of the characters, but I understand why she ended it that way. I'm now hearing she's not against more Hogwarts (not necessarily Harry) books. Not sure how I feel about that, but it does open up some possibilities.
