I've been waiting to see this movie for 2 damn years. In fact, I'm pretty sure one of my first boiling points "Release Date Shuffle" mentioned this film, and that column is not brand new anymore. =(

"Beyond that, there is nothing to indicate that Mandy Lane is a supreme suckfest like Funny Games." -- I completely disagree. I have seen both and they're both completely different types of movies. OK, you may not like Funny Games, but it isn't in the same league as this modern-day slasher movie.

I managed to catch Mandy Lane back in February (in the UK) and it was alright. Nothing special at all. And infact, the ending detracted from the movie for me. If you're looking for a twist-type slasher movie then I'd recommend Switchblade Romance instead. It's been a while since I've seen it, so I can't remember any good bits, nor any bad bits but nothing new is brought to the genre.

Back to the poster, well, it is a funny rip-off. Not a complete rip-off, but definitely heavily inspired - and I don't think that's a bad thing with this. It's a nod to a better movie (in my opinion) and to people in the movie know!

I'd like to state the fact I also hate The Weinstein Company. They've fucked up so many things I'd like to have seen.
