Caption This: Win Uwe Boll’s Far Cry on DVD!
The movie is not the book series... so I'm not criticizing the books here... but the trailer looks kind of one note. I'm sure there's more to the film than just the vampire in leather chasing and trying to eat Kristen Stewart, but you wouldn't know it from the trailer. My guess is that the studio will release multiple trailers themed differently... this is the "action" one, next will come the "love story" one, etc.
And why does Robert Pattinson constantly look like he has to vomit?
GUSH GUSH GUSH
To Neil Miller: I appreciate your experiment; would love to hear a viewer-not-reader's opinion on the movie. However, you did get a bit of the storyline wrong (and I'm not sure whether that is the fault of the trailer--or maybe this is a good thing, so you're constantly surprised at the actual movie). Will not tell you what you got wrong, though.
I agree with Rob Hunter, there might be a series of themed trailers.
1) This is not the first trailer.
2) I would say Edward is in love Bella instead of the other way around because, he pursues her bascially the whole book, and saves her life or rescues her on more than one occasion. Also, he is attracted to her "scent". It is described as the sweetest blood he has ever smelled, EVER.
3) The fact that Edward is a vampire doesn't bother Bella, at all. Its Edward who is ashamed of what he is.
3)His family of vampires (The Cullens) are down with anything that makes Edward happy, except there is NO WAY for him to become mortal(but yes he wants to), Bella is the one who will NEED to become a vampire. But this issue doesn't really come up until New Moon(the second book). All agree that she should change except for his sister Rosalie.(which isn't explained until book #3)
4)Yes, a fight takes place, but not between Edward and his family. Some "bad" vampires(James, Laurent, and Victoria) who feed on humans come to town, and thats all Im going to say about that to not spoil the whole thing here.
5)@Rachael: LOL! My reaction was the same! Im guessing you are a Twilighter also? We have to stick together on these hateful comment spots.
6)And sorry to disappoint the serious critics, but this movie was NOT made to please you. No one really cares what you think. It will be gushed about forever by the TWILIGHT fans. :) 12-12-08!!!!
7) Lastly, the trailer is an AMAZING representation of Twilight, but they got a lot of things wrong that i'm not to happy about. Its still great though.
showing at the dark knight, but I'm not sure if that is true or not. I hope it is!! I love
twilight!!
I blame that loosely based statistic on Robert Pattison and his effortless ability to "woo". (Cedric anyone? Can't say I wasn't wooed there... but only a little)
Anyway...
This trailer is good and bad. Good because... well I did gush and stop breathing a little in excitement BUT I don't know how I'm feeling about these very evident plotline changes (small or not). I don't want to be a stickler on novel movies because obviously it can't be word for word from the book, but I just hope it's not another Eragon (Ugh that movie with forever be remembered as the worst mistake in fiction novel movie history... He had an "e" on his hand. REALLY? An e?! And that little blonde bastard ruined everything.) Woah. Sorry. I still have pent up agression about that one...
But I do hope, as someone said above, that this trailer is the "action" trailer and there will be more later. I can't help but like that they aren't giving out too much of the plot. I can't wait for Alice Cullen =)
Ps. The Robert Pattison picture at the top of this article is... slightly frightening. I'm not a fan of any of their promotion pics. The vampires all look sick.
Kristen Stewart was a surprise to me as well. But in watching The Messengers,In the Land of Women, and Zathura I think she has the romantic, funny, annoing, cute, shy, odd girl out thing going good for her.She is smart and very talented as well.
I think that the cast that they have set up,even though yet again not my first choice,is a spectacular cast that will make this production over the top amazingly awesome.I am very excited and very happy for this movie and hopefully a sequal to come out.
I think that the producers and writers and everyone else working on this movie are the most amazing people EVER!
GO CAST!
GO CREW!
GO STEPHANIE!
Love Raven.
Maybe I'll read the book someday, but as far as the movie, I'll probably only watch it if it comes to TV.
it looks as though they've completely messed the film up. if i wasn't a reader i probably wouldn't be keen to see it at all.
I say just sit back, grab some popcorn, enjoy it and criticise it later.
Come on, a movie is a movie and a book is a book.
They can't always be the same.
The Lord Of The Rings had tiny differences but nobody cared because it was and will always be one of the best novel adaptations around (in my opinion). Plus, it went for circa three hours per film. Who couldn't grow attached to it in that time? xD
Yeah, I went to Eragon expecting 'Eragon The Film', not 'Eragon The Novel Turned Into Moving Pictures' and let's just say, it's not the best one out there.
*gags*
I'll just wait for the movie. Hope Robert did give justice to the part he portrayed.
