Catherine Tramell??? Wth - She's the most elegant villain on the list!

And I thought the heroes list was bad, jeez! No Leatherface love, how about The Terminator, and if there as a special award for all time best villian group it would have to go to the Nazis (everybody, minus some skinheads, love watching them get their ass handed to them)! If we wanna jump in the WayBack machine how about Hans Beckert from M? Oh well, thanks for the laughs and lively discussion caused by the list EW!

I agree with the inclusion of Alex Forrest on this list. Dude, she seriously scared the crap out of me! But the Wicked Witch at Number One is highly suspect. John Doe should have gotten a place on this list.

Alex delarge wasn't even the villain in clockwork orange. The government was. That said, the government is evil enough to put on this list also.

    Hans Gruber, T-100, T-1000, and/or John Doe

Oh and Michael Corleone and Alex from A Clockwork Orange (unless by villians they mean antagonists)
  • Ryan · 7 months ago
Isn't Alex Delarge from A Clockwork Orange? He's number 5

I agree with John Doe, definitely. Also, Eric Cartman and Biff Tannen would have made for better out-of-left field choices than the ones they went with. The inclusion of anyone from "Dallas" on a top list is a head scratcher.

again EW shows it's age only including a few villains from the 80s-2000s...this list could run on 60 Mins..big age gap here EW is the last magazine to use the words "pop culture"

Lord Sauron is going to be pissed when he hears about this. He did not bring Middle Earth down to its knees to take shit from Entertainment Weekly.

Good call on thew lack of Terminators on the list guys.
I've been a longtime reader of EW for a long time, and whenever they do these lists i want to pull my gradually thinning hair out.
    J.R. Ewing? Really?
I would love to see EW do a list that didn't include a shout out to Harry Potter.

How does Nurse Ratched rank 10th? She should get two nods! Don't forget she was the evil Grandmother in V.C. Andrews, Flowers in the Attic. Horse whipping the daughter, poisioning the grand children, all for marrying the fathers half step brother? If that's not sick and twisted.

Raymond's mother, from "The Manchurian Candidate".

When these lists are compiled, I always wonder if half the list is serious and the other half added just to rile people up?

Nevertheless, they are always fun. Sex in my sandwhich indeed.

Yeah I'd have to agree with you on how wrong it was to put the Wicked Witch at #1. I just posted my top 10 villains on my blog the other day and Darth Vader makes the cut at #1. He's the greatest villain in the history of cinema. I also added Nurse Ratched and Sauron. Take a look-see at k-rated.com Let me know what you think.
