Film School Rejects: ‘The Last Airbender’ Trailer Surprises with Simplicity

Why did M. Night smear his name all over the movie like he created it? Unless he made some big ass changes.

Is this Avatar: The Last Airbender or M. Night Shyamalan's Last Airbender?

Yea, I kind of agree with you on that one. It is actually Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko's technically, since they created the original show and THEIR idea was the original idea that made it so popular on Nickelodeon. M. Night could have said to put "Based on Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko" in the beginning of the teaser or something instead of making it look like, to all the people who never followed Avatar, that it was all his idea.

It's been a long time since someone was gutsy enough to just plainly display how beautiful and bad ass-looking martial arts can be.

Awesome trailer. Minimalist but very effective. I can easily see it gaining the attention of those unfamiliar with the excellent series. Can't wait for an expanded trailer and then the movie. I feel like I'm the only one looking forward to Revenge of The Fallen.

Another M. Night Shylaman movie that has enormous potential, but will likely disappoint.

I watched the animated series with my son. I know we will definitely see this movie. Great teaser in my opinion.

M.Nights name is really big becasue he is one of the selling points. He's a big time, and well known director and Frank Marshell and company want to sell that. Just like Don Murphy had M. Bays name bigger than the title of transformers. There both selling points, having there name big up there isn't supposed to mean they created the whole concept.
Even though you could say they did create the new movie universes as both "The Last airbender" and "Transformers" are different than the shows they're based upon. It sounds more like you guys are just making a big deal out of Nights name being so big out of the big fact that its popular to dislike his work now. Which is just idiotic. I don't really care if this is called M.Nights:The Last Airbender. This is his movie, and he did not only direct but wrote the screenplay as well. So, technically this is his playground now.

Aang is going to be played by a really talented kid named Noah Ringer--he's phenomenal. We used his motions for an animated short called "Ninja Toy" while he was auditioning for the part. You can check out the video and see more of what he's about at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2I1Wbr-i7g

At the end of the movie, he'll wake up and Bruce Willis will die.

    Wadda twist!

you have no idea how happy i am for you saying that. Nothing but haters seem to comment anything nowadays. Movie looks awesome.

Yup. I promise you this... is all M. Night's handiwork. And if I didn't know the original series, I night be tempted to agree with all of you. He has made it a Norse and Viking mythology plus bending "based on martial arts movies" thing. I say thing because I'm probably not allowed to say anything stronger. He has wiped out the Avatar...and "the Chosen One" rises from that crypt it's been in since The Forbidden Kingdom and Dragonball. He has reawakened...the Russian monk, son of Star Wars Boy. He has substituted his lightsaber for a piece of wood, if didin't see him in the sea of shiny white candles. Think on the "originality" of M Night's idea.
