Boiling Point: Twilight
Secondly, all this looks like is a zombie film containing elements of dialogue from PLAN 9. Eh.
...
Michael Bay. That's all I can say about this thing.
I don't have a pobrelm.
But in all seriousness this actually looks good, or at least as a remake of an Ed Wood film could ever be.
At some point in the (relatively) recent past FSR made a list of movies that should never be remade for any reason. Blade Runner, Princess Bride, Rocky Horror Picture Show and a bunch of others came up (Well, if the Princess Bride and Rocky Horrow weren't listed they damn well should have been!) but I think I have to add Plan 9 From Outer Space to that list.
Honestly, how can you remake a film as magnificently visionary as Plan 9? Even if it is magnificent for it's incompetance it is still truly visionary. Especially given the place this film has taken over history the question goes beyond, "How can anyone do this film justice," to, "Why?"
Plan 9 From Outer Space is perfect. Ed Wood wanted this to be pinnacle crown glory and it is. Remaking it is just an exbarrassment.
Having said that, the trailer looks fun. If they make it in the style of 28 Days Later (Story and acting first, gory way down the list.) then it will be fun and I'll see it opening night. If it turns into a gory fest, well, then it's really a disservice to Ed Wood's Legacy. (Such as it was/is.)
