Hmmm... although i like the younger Jacob, unless they can make him look older it might not go so well.. He's suppose to be like towering over Edward isn't he?
if they can make him look bigger then by all means keep him <3 =]
if not, it might be better to replace him... =[ ..but I'm hoping that they'll do something with special effect to enhance him a bit...but they did set a budget already so who knows.

I wish people would stop saying Taylor can't fit this role of transformation. How many werewolves do you know? This will require special effects for any actor. How many nearly 7 foot tall people do you know? This also will require SPECIAL EFFECTS for any actor. Taylor is already buffing up for this part that it requires that he didn't need for the first movie. It takes time, give him a chance.

i agree with u shannon...yes there is a budget...but come on...i think they will want to make the fans happy...besides yes it might cost extra to do all that special effects..but i think they r considering how much money they will make..twilight fans r loyal if ur a true fan...granted the part of jacob may not be that big to some but i belive he plays a huge role and will do great...thank u shannon for ur comment

I really don't care about who is playing who. If you are a big fan of the stories as I am, then it shouldn't really matter whether they kick off Taylor or not. As long as there is a Jacob Black to fill Bella's void...(that sounds funny)....but you know what I mean. Just be happy they are making a second movie. Plus, I love The Golden Compass. If the man who directed that movie is responsible for New Moon, then I am really excited. Anybody in their right mind would know that Taylor is too small to play Jacob. Do you expect them to waste money on making Taylor look bigger?? Nah!! These business people have other important things to worry about. All they have to do is get a guy who is tall and good looking and thats that.
I'm sorry for those who really love Taylor and won't be able to see him in the next movie, but as long as they make it better than the first one...I'm all good!!!

wow....bet u regret saying that...cuz its official..taylor is going to stay as jacob as he should be!! i respect your opinion but fortunately for me and many other taylor fans....he will be sticking around a little longer..besides these business people are in it for the money and knows that replacing taylor will be a big error...thats my opinion!! btw many others feel that way as well!!

It's weird that there have been multiple James Bonds and nobody seems to care, but when they replace someone because he can't fit the role.
And Shannan, I don't know any werewolves personally, and yes, it would take digital enhancing for anyone, but I think it's a matter of budget. It would take a lot more work and money to make Taylor look good than Copon. It's also about budget for future movies. They would have to waste the same amount of money again on him in Eclipse.

I agree with you. Taylor is a cute kid of course but with Jacob's transformation into a werewolf, he needs to look like a man, not a teenager. It's too bad for Taylor Lautner though. I liked him in Twilight. I saw the name Michael Copon and wow... he would be fine for that role. He's hot looking and pretty tall... We'll have to wait a few weeks to know. I saw Twilight so many times... I read all 4 books so now that I know what will happen in the future for Bella and Edward, I can't wait to see New Moon and the other movies too. This serie will be great !

I'm glad the studio is seriously considering replacing Taylor because he wouldn't fit the transformation Jacob goes through. As for the rushed time schedule...well, I think we can expect another film with shotty effects.

Jacob ages to look about 26 in New Moon, once his werewolf transformation is going under way. He also has a huge growth spurt, and ends up somewhere abround 6'7'' I think. So an adult Jacob would definately be needed later on, looks wise.

Personality alone- Jacob becomes very cocky and self-assured by the time Eclipse rolls around, so Lautner might not be the right personality either.

I've read it all over, including the above article. :) It's not official, but I think it is a smart move. Taylor is too young to play the New Moon Jacob, well he could play him in the beginning, but at the halfway mark an older looking actor is needed.

I love Taylor, I really hope they don't replace him. Even if he doesn't look 20 or 26 or something, he's one of the only good actors on that movie.

And this is BS it has the same release date as Sherlock Holmes. First they moved The Soloist because of Twilight, and now Robert Downey has this crap thrown at him? A crap film is going to beat Sherlock. Hmm.

i know about the budget but gosh he has done so much hard work to make himself lke a werewolf its crazy ....
seriously i read all your comments.......... of course and most of you have different opinions but sometimes you shouldnt just go on and agree to rpelace the person because it stuffs up the book and everyhting but how do you know what this michael copon's personality is like? hes tall and hot but what about his personality to the actual charcter..

I guess everyone will finally shut the hell up about the whole Taylor replacement situation since they are keeping him on now lol. As I said before on my last opinion, I don't give a crap who is in it. I just think its ridiculous how some people will think its going to suck because of one actor not being in the film. The quality and the success of the film is whats important and we need to focus on how well the movie will turn out compared to the first film. I respect opinions from other people, but some of the opinions I read just made me wonder if people will only like the film just because their favorite actors are in it.

yea i can see how crazy people can get when it comes to twilight...but i think when someone has so much enthusiasm for something and so much love for anything then i think that craziness comes along with the package...yes..we still need to remind ourselves that its fictional and not to take it seriously..but i see how odd it may seem to hear people talk about certain characters as if the movie will suffer if they get replaced...i dont think that but i do think that it wont be the same if they do indeed decide to replace taylor..i have a feeling they might in the future if they make any more movies..but we can only wait and see what taylor can do...i have confidence in him..hope he doesnt let me down..lol

in my opinion I think launter will do just fine as jacob in new moon...I hate nothing more than when they change cast..and look @ benjamin button they made him look old younge and everything inbetween thay can deffinitly make launter look bigger and older...they have 50million budget I'm sure they can put that in somewhere..and I thought twilight was a great movie. I'm not really one to care much about the quality of a movie I more so look @ the story. I love the books I read all 4 and couldn't put them down..my husband called me a zombie and told me I was literally stuck in the twilight zone lol so to see it out of my head was great. I thought kristen and rob did a great job @ portraying the chemistry between edward and bella. Also I can see how some people think edward is a bad role model because of the way he treats bella in the movie, but if you haven't read the books then you wouldn't understand the amout of passion they have for eachother. I will deffinetly see the sequals to twilight. I can't wait for new moon and eclipse. And I really hope they do the 4th book which that one would need a lot of digital inhansing wow I can only imagine how good that one would be and definetly would need to be 3 hrs concidering its 774 pages...

thank god, the whole "who's gonna play Jacob?" situation is over, it was weird,
just how much controversy it caused, seriously.
none the less, I'm glad Taylor Lautner is reprising the role. I like him on a whole,
and speaks really well for himself, and is down-to-earth outside of the acting world.
(I say this based upon interveiws I've veiwn.)
can't wait for new moon.
the film Twilight was good, but it's got nothing on the book.
Then again, I guess it's hard transfering what 500 pages, into 1 + a bit hours worth of footage, lol.

you know what? that's excatly what I was speculating. although the project will end up costing more on a whole, because of the aging on jacob and how much young Taylor looks, based upon the fans if they 'had' in fact replaced him, the overall making of how much New Moon would have made, would have been at loss. Well, it didn't bother me much at the time who played Jacob, but now I'm glad they've stuck with Lautner.
