Film School Rejects: ‘Lives of Others’ Director Might Fall Into Jolie’s ‘Tourist’ Trap

I read the screenplay for "The Tourist" a few months ago, and thought it was pretty entertaining. I *might* be able to see Sam Worthington as the "American dupe," but I can't really see Jolie as the woman. It's a shame Charlize Theron is no longer attatched, as the part pretty much described her to a "T" (well...maybe a slightly younger version).

Charlize Theron last movie, The Burning Plain, has made so far exactly $161,897 (no, I'm not forgetting a M or K at the end of the number), according to IMDB.

Angelina Jolie last two movies, if you discount Kung Fu Panda, were Wanted - $339M and Changeling - $112M, considering only teathers worldwide gross. If you include KFP, she's over $1 Billion!

So, whatever you think about Jolie is not important. The film has now a movie star and a good chance to be done.

Oh, I know that Jolie is more marketable at this point, and that screenplays are only a small part of the overall process...that's just the way H-Wood is.

Pretty cool... You're going to start in Hollywood with the actresses' queen Angelina Jolie and the new darling of Hollywood Sam Worthington. If you don't do a good job, it will be your last movie. No matter what, it will be your fault...

So, good luck, Mr von (everything else in his name is too complicated for me, I'm sorry)!

Angelina Jolie and Sam Worthington aside, I'm still counting on von Donnersmarck to make the movie worth watching.
