    why does everything come back to transformers or star wars? make your own gdo-damn movie franchises & stop trying to make everything into a trilogy because star wars did it years back.

    "I want this to be the next stars wars, the next transformers, the next...etc,etc,etc. this is crazily retarded in the sense that they're thinking of numbers rather than quality, which is what's been going on so...I guess it doesn't matter. who cares then.

    PS: I think I had better thought when Jackson was involved, but now that's it's Spielbergo calling some shots i'm not too too sure.

    Totally agree.

    After seeing District 9, I'm struggling to figure out whether it's the best film I've seen all year (over The Hurt Locker) or if it's simply the second best movie I've seen all year.

    A first time feature director just did what most people struggle their entire careers and never do in Hollywood. Blomkamp is perfect for Halo. Anyone else, and we'd know we were getting an inferior movie to what could be.

    Spielberg can be great, look at the positives..he makes great alien movies (E.T., War of the Worlds, Close Encounters) and he makes great war movies (Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List) and what is Halo?? An Alien war movie, this movie has potential to be amazing.

    Does it seem at all coincidental as this is happening as District 9 is getting screened? I'm thinking Spielberg might just be throwing his weight behind this one to get Blomkamp on board.

    spike jonze + zelda = better than halo film. and there are plenty of other games that make money, just cuz its halo doesnt mean its gonna make tons of it from a film. and they are base in it off the book? why not come up with their own.

    Am I the only one that thinks Halo would be far better suited as a CGI movie than live action?
    Although I loved the directorial style of Blomkamps "Combat" Parts 1&2......whenever I see a CGI halo clip such as the ESPN 2006 "starry night" trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xd0LZB8Dj94) or the "Halo Wars" trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RK6WFIUDbg) & halo wars "harvest" trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwh2_ssqHIo), the graphical style seems just more appropriate. I thought Resi-evil made a great live-action, so its not just a "games must be CGI" thing.
