Film School Rejects: ‘Get Smart’ Breaths New Life Into an Old Favorite

  • Joe Kizanu · 1 year ago
    "Smart comedy" by Peter Segal is an impossibility. The action scenes were average and very boring, and there were a tiny smattering of laughs, most of which are featured in the various TV ads. Anyone who praises the intelligence of this movie is obviously a studio shill.

    @Joe

    Are you saying that you would like to fight me?

    Because if you are calling me a "studio shill", then I believe that's what you are saying...

    Well, we've arrived. No Film News/Opinion website is legitimate until someone calls it out for being planted by the studio system. And no sarcastic asshole has made it until he's called a shill.

    Congratulations! We did it! Class of '08!

    I'm going to celebrate by drinking an entire handle of Maker's Mark, which I was conveniently already planning on doing.

    I'd just like to say that, a la Uwe Boll, I'd be willing to fist fight our detractors.

    I have just begun to read you folks and I love your tone. It is so refreshing! By that I mean, you accentuate your passionate love for all things cinematic though prompting us googling readers to love movies more. You use humor that paints with sarcasm, not sarcasm that manipulates humor. And I heart that.

    We appreciate it, Comedian! Especially since Neil - our esteemed editor - forces us to write movie news and reviews at all hours of the day, locked in the dank basement of the FSR office with nothing but stale cheese and old Wi-Fi to keep us company. Send help.
