the effects do look fairly dated.
but that being said, I don't think anything in this day and age that has live humans shooting shit out of their hands and doing weird ninja flips that are impossible can be taken seriously. look at the Covenant. who did that film do? what was it mostly composed of? weird projectiles and ridicules acrobatics.

there's your answer.
dragonball was destined to fail from the moment they decided to make it live action. learn from Voltron and Power Rangers...

Well, this movie could have been really cool, but the creators were too impatient to hold out and find a good company to make it. It looks horrible and too kiddish. I grew up watching DragonBall and always wanted a live action movie, but this just looks stupid.
Besides, Goku wasn't some stupid white boy who didn't want to fulfill his destiny, he was an alien called a Saiyan who came to Earth and ended up fighting for it instead of taking it over. He loved fighting and never once complained and wussied out.

I'm a Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT fanatic and I still want to see the movie. I sort of those follow the suit of the anime based on the trailer it does show the futuristic city and Goku's grandpa house and other locations they've shown but the matrix fighting style and the defying of gravity does make this movie a little bit 1999-2000 movie.

I actually don't think it'll be heinous. It looks totally...average. On par with movies like "Mortal Kombat" or "Chronicles of Riddick". I'll probably wait for DVD, but I'd wanna see this.

im giving it a shot. I heard the budget was kinda low...seeing how Bulmas hair isnt blue. its neat that they used the "capsule" for the motocycle. Im willing to look past the graphics if the story is good and at least touches the original storyline. I just wish Krillin was in it...

This movie totally fails on every aspect of the real DRAGON UNIVERSE. Master Roshi is also a PERV AND IS HISTERICAL. There is also no "CHOOSEN ONE" in DBZ. Whoever the director is or the scriptwriter is needs to shoot themselves in the face with a MINI MAC befor the ppl who helped fund this PIECE OF SHIT film do them favor of anally rapeing them with CAT FISHES AND DROWNING THEM IN A BUCKET OF CRUSHED SNAILS. THey also do not fight like that they are WAAAY FASTER THAN THAT. This movie is not even following any part of the story line. Goku is an ALIEN (saiyan) that came to earth as a baby and grew up with his Gpa Gohan then as he got older he met a BLUE HAIRED (not black wita gay ass bule streak) Bulma who wanted to have his Dragonball. They then go on adventures looking for them (DRAGONBALLS) and befrieding ppl along the way such as krillin,yamcha,tien, and the pig and roshi and many others.

you know i love DBZ... my friends and i would always talk about this movie comming out... now that i have actualy seen this trailer and reading what everyone has to say... you are all commpletly right... this movie looks like shit... im so so sad... and the way they made goku look in this movie...horrable... never the less me and my friends will see this when it comes out because we have waited so long... but if you ask me.. i say they throw this movie straight to DVD and try to make it again... try something with better computer work.. make it feel like DBZ... i use to get chills when i heard goku with his kame-ha-me-ha!! but when this poor white boy wanna be said it i felt like i was going to throw up... sigh... if they try to do that with naruto and its just as bad.. i will take a shot gun to my face.....

I just finished watching the movie and to tell you the truth, its shit. I have been watching Dragon Ball for 15 years. Thats the only movie I love. BIG BIG Fan. But this movie sucks. Goku is not american white boy. NO! Goku isnt skinny. No! Goku loves to fight and not whimp out! Goku takes every chance at fighting. This movie really blows. I want to shoot the director so bad. He takes a good cartoon and make it hell. He needs to be killed.
