Boiling Point: Twilight
btw, how long before youple shut up about a Halo movie? i love me some action, but what's the human interest angle of that story? actually...what is the story, besides some guys and aliens shooting at each other?
Also, your beard is CONSIDERABLY ridiculous

Still after thinking about it a little, I think I'd prefer not to see the game made, as it will most likely inevitably suck, just like almost every other movie game has sucked.
The aliens (as stated in the movie) are growing ever larger and eventually they break out of district 10 taking over several other areas in Southafrica, as government tries to defeat and recontain the aliens a large number of human gangs emerges followed by overencumbered police/military.
You play as Wikus right after hes fully transformed into a "prawn" - your job is to somehow get in contact with Christoffer Johansen (possible final quest could be decide wheter you want to stay as alien of have him transform you back to human) Obviously getting in contact with the mothership wont be easy - especially in a land this tormented by alien renegades, viscious gangs and corrupt brutal human forces.
Seriously could go on for hours unfortunatly I dont have the skills to make this happen but if any developers read this then please for the love of all gamers give us a District 9 game!
i the beginning you metioned walking out of the theater thinking a few things : (a) that Neill Blomkamp should direct a Halo movie and (b) District 9 would make a kick-ass video game experience. the first thing didn't come up with me, but the second thing sure did!
i totally agree
greets from holland
well i didn't think of (a) but i sure tought about (b)
greets
Personally, I think a first person RPG would be much better, something like Borderlands. Also the player should have different "skills", these depending on what group/faction they choose. I have a few ideas that would be great for Prawn "special skills": apart from the obvious things like powerful melee attacks and being the ONLY group/faction to be able to use alien tech (I must emphasize the word "ONLY" as it clearly says in the movie that the weapon work EXCLUSIVELY with their DNA and they can't be use by humans), they should have some kind of "scavenger" ability, similar to the Undead racial "Cannibalize" in WoW (If you're not familiar with this, the Undead could eat a corpse to regenerate health), because we could see in the movie that liked rubber and they could the can of the cat-food; They should also have some ability to modify (boosting firing rate or damage) or even create new weapons (in the MNU headquarters Christopher made a bomb from several weapon parts). But to not make them too powerful, they should also have some disadvantages, for example not having the ability to wear any armor, or perhaps only a weak ones (in the movie Prawns only wear scraps of clothes). But let's not forget about the mecha-suit.
Gangs should be similar to the ones in San Andreas, and like in SA, there should also be multiple gangs. I really don't know what "skills" they should have, perhaps stealth, or a "blend in" kind of thing. I'm not sure about the vehicles, the only thing I saw in the movie was that rusty pick-up truck.
The MNU soldiers (which I don't think I would ever try) should be your average soldier, with heavy armor, grenades and fairly good weapons. Their special skill could be a helicopter with a sniper on board (it also appeared in the movie) or perhaps they could have snipers themselves. Tear gas could also be a nice addition. They should also have those cool military vehicles.
